For the second week of October, the chosen theme was:
2nd Week: Making an Important Financial Decision
Following the theme for October, the second part of our financial literacy blogging contest involves self-improvement. It is really a no-brainer, if we want our financial health to improve, we must make sound financial decisions. And, one of the ways to do this is via education. Learning about finances through books, seminars, and whatnot that complements tracking your actual finances will go a long way in creating a financially literate person.

So, let's talk what I did for this week that will help my financial education journey. I didn't open a bank account, I didn't invest in stocks nor buy more crypto because honestly I don't have yet a lot of idea about it. I just read a book, a pocket book entitled Counsels on Stewardship. We have a money but basically we don't own it, we are just a steward of it. God owns it and He wanted us to use it wisely.
It is true that many of us are living not within our income. It can be seen anywhere that many are borrowing money from others a day after the salary day. I really wonder about it, it become thier habit to borrow, pay, borrow and pay and it is a never ending practice.
Understanding and making an effort to improve oneself is an integral part of becoming financially successful. Learning about basic concepts makes it possible for us to reflect and make sound financial decisions in life. Ultimately, we can pass this along to our children as a gift because they learn about finances through us and the way we handle our family finances. It's really not about how much money we have in the bank but how we handle money. It's about how we value things and prioritize what matters most in life, such as making an investment versus spending the money on gambling. That said, this is a big step in our journey towards financial education.
So, for the 3nd week, the topic is A Budget Plan. From the contest announcement post, this is a suggestion on how to write your entry for the contest. Looking forward to more submissions for this week. May time pa magsulat. Join na tayo!
Google how to do it and then apply the principles using the data you've gathered for the past 2 weeks. Paano naman if you forgot to track on certain days dahil napasobra sarap sa spending? try to estimate your costs nalang. This is an exercise to help you improve financially with an added incentive for a prompt to post about.
Please use the hashtags #financial-literacy and #financial-education for the weekly October blogging contest. Thanks.
