Good Monday, Hivers!
I am Eden, at your service!
A busy week has began and trying my best to catch up with you guys! Singapore has started the phase one of the "Post Circuit Breaker", all of us here are getting busy to get back on track. But of course, I don't want to be left behind by my Hive family.
So here I am trying to share some thoughts with you all of how the service industry has impacted my whole personality and work ethics thus applying all the things I have learned from this career that I have chosen to pursue.
When I was a kid, I lived in an area where the villagers are mostly the older ones, which actually taught me the "value of respect" and be passionate to all the people from all walks of life. Hence, from there on, service to the people had changed my perspective in life as a person and as an individual which leads me to a career path of customer service.
For about 15 years in the customer service line, I have been through a lot of opportunities working together with the team or alone successfully. I have also acquired the hard skills when I worked in a Call Centre industry in the Philippines for about five years as a Tier II/Email agent. My superior was always happy with my performances in handling customers' complaints be it in Billing, Technical or Email correspondents.
I have also been exposed in the Food and Beverage industry where flexibility in the service must provide. The happiest part working in this line is when you make someone else's day a great one by giving them an exceptional service from the heart. I have always been putting myself in my customer's shoes when providing the service as I would like to be served.
My personality is easy going and I am naturally friendly which helps me save from all difficult situations. In all these working experiences, I have learned that good customer service is a lifeblood of all businesses and is vital in building the company's reputation and making customer happy and having them to comeback.
My way of handling customer is to always keep calm, never make assumptions, listen and go that extra mile in understanding their problem and needs in order to help and serve them effectively.
Customer service never comes from textbooks that we study from school, but it does come from the heart.
Furthermore, just remember to always wear a smile and be professional and I assure you that it is always effective.
Customer service is not an easy job as you thought it could be. This line needs a great commitment in order to succeed!
I am Eden, 'till my next blog!
Have a great week ahead and stay safe!
