Hello there my lovely hivers!!!!!
Bogo City Cebu, was the epicenter of the Earthquake and it is said that its 6.7 magnitude. There's a post on the internet that the North was the most damaging part of the Earthquake. We're part of the Tabogon, where we experience a sudden earthquake that was really traumatizing to us. There's no signs or news that an earthquake would be hitting the North. We really don't expect this earthquake since there's a typhoon the other day.
At 9:00 pm, we decided to go to our old house to sleep but the earthquake suddenly hit our Northern part of Cebu. Thankfully, we were scrolling on our phone that time and we were alert when the disaster happens. We were really scared knowing that this was our 2nd time experiencing Earthquake and this was the scariest thing that happened in my life. My sister didn't opened the door she just lean and my brother help her since she's holding a laptop. We were scared and the roof keeps banging that made me shout to my siblings to open the door since it is most scary if we are trapped inside our house.
We finally went out to our door but my sister slipped on the floor my sister was so nervous she was the one who ran first but as we were surprised the floor of our terrace was filled with water that made her body go down to the floor. She took a pause and my brother helped him stand up, we ran quickly to the highway. My brother hugged my sister by tapping the back of my sister for comfort and I took the laptop in her hand. That moment made me think that it was just a dream but now I can vividly look back and share with you what happened on that day it left me such a heartbreaking and traumatizing disaster.
The first words uttered in our mouth were our parents we need to go to our second house to check if they are okay. As we reached the corner of our street my parents and I were facing each other. My sister hugged my mother as we met them she was really scared and my mother comforted her. My father and my brother decided to check our house but then the earthquake kept coming back again2.
We didn't know where to stay since our house wasn't safe anymore there are possibilities that it would collapse. That made us decide to stay in the big area without any big trees on the side we refrain from staying on the side of the trees since it would fall off anytime. We spent most of the time in this area where we could feel that we were safe it was really cold but at least we were safe. We were talking about the things that we do when we experience the sudden disaster we weren't comforting each other but instead we laughed at the things that happened to us we were happy that God guided us. We were safe and there were just little scratches.
While we were in the big area, we still felt aftershocks, also the internet was gone after 2-3 hours when the earthquake happened. But before that we scrolled on facebook, and our fyp full of news about the disaster we were really sad knowing what happened in Bogo, City. There is infrastructure broke, and the people were trapped in their house because of the sudden collapse of their house. Facebook was the only way to contact our loved ones and to be updated by the disaster.
As of this moment, we didn't want to stay in our house yet and especially if it happened at night for us to be safe we plan to stay here overnight. I was so scared to sleep since there was a possibility that it would came back and I should be staying alert.
I was looking at the sky and it was filled with stars the moon shining so bright. I kept praying to the almighty god, for our safety and also to the whole part of Northern Cebu. We experience the same disaster but the magnitude they felt on the epicenter was really strong. I chatted with my friends if they were okay, thank god they were doing fine.
My classmate kept chatting on our group chat to keep us updated on what happened in bogo. Shockingly, one building of our school put on fire because of the chemicals placed inside. Also my uncle wasn't around they had an errand on Libertad, Bogo for their mayor cup my grandmother kept calling on them if they were okay. They arrived safely in their house and they shared with us that they were all safe. When the disaster happened they ran towards the gate but the gym filled with so many people that could cause people to get stepped and it was black out. Some people had bruises and broke their legs They didn't think about the others the only thing in their mind they could go home safely.
