I truly believe in the saying, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” In life, when there’s something we really want to do, we find a way to do it. It may not be perfect, but we always give our best.
That’s exactly what happened with my cousin and me. We prepared coconut leaves to make "puso” for my grandmother because she was eager to learn how to make them so she could help in the future.
At first, she patiently watched me while I was making the “puso". You could really see the eagerness on her face—she genuinely wanted to learn. It took hours for me to teach her since it was her first time and she was very curious about the process. We even ended up having our little “lesson” at night just to make sure she’d get it.
This was us during our tutoring session on how to make “puso”. At the beginning, she got frustrated because she was confused, and I couldn’t help but laugh because her patience was almost running out. But eventually, she managed to form one—not totally perfect, but it was a “puso” nonetheless.
She was so serious about it, completely focused, barely noticing the people around her because she was determined to learn.
After a few hours, she finally made her own “puso”. She was so happy and proudly showed it to her mom, telling her that she already knew how to make one.
Of course, as her “teacher,” I was really happy too. All her effort paid off, and it made me proud to see the result of her hard work—HAHAHA!
We ended up finishing at around 10:00 in the evening and managed to make seven puso in total. It was such a proud moment to see that her eagerness truly bore fruit.
Proud of you, my dear. 💛
