Time spent with family is never a time wasted; instead, a time cherished and valued.
Hello Hivers! It is my first time posting in this community and I have mixed emotions of excitement and nervousness.😅
Anyways, I am here to share a recent place we visited with my family.
Cebu Safari and Adventure Park
This park is located in the mountainous part of Carmen, Cebu, Philippines. It offers a variety of attractions and adventures that kids and adults alike will surely enjoy. There are tickets and packages available for the guest to choose from. You can visit their Facebook page here for available tickets and packages.
We got the regular ticket called WILD ATTRACTION for 900 pesos- more or less 50 dollars. We were given a Map that guided us throughout the journey. The inclusions were animal exhibits and interactions, Michel's garden, Bird Show, African Savanna, and White Lion Safari.
After buying the tickets, we waited for the coaster that will take us to the adventure in the wild. Yeah, you can immediately hop into any coaster for free! So cool right? The drivers will gladly take you wherever you go.
INTO THE WILD WE GO...
We had no expectations while riding the coaster because we were all first-timers. The only feeling we had that time was too much EXCITEMENT! The most excited was our daughter because she has been an animal lover ever since. I was excited for her too!
We got off and started walking to make the most of this wild adventure. Let me share the amazing animals and views we saw along the way.
This donkey was very friendly. In fact, I just begged it to stay for this photo op and gladly it did. Thanks, donkey! My husband and daughter can be seen as joyful in this one.
I must admit, I was kind of scared with this one..haha But clearly my daughter wasn't. As seen in this pic, she was going near the tiger with a smile from mouth to ear. Tough girl huh? It made me wonder where she got that bravery. Kidding, seriously it melted my heart to see her very happy like this.
Giraffe
We couldn't forget this experience because we got to feed the giraffe with leaves. I was actually shaking while doing it.haha I was afraid that the giraffe was gonna eat my hand too. Other than it has a tall physique; it has a big mouth where my hand could literally fit in. A bit scary huh?
This close interaction with this pal is one of the things my daughter could never forget.
The African Savanna is an attraction where animals from Africa can be seen. It is located in the uppermost part of the Cebu Safari where they can freely move. Unfortunately, it was raining when we reached African Savanna and all the animals were hiding in their respective places; hence got the photo of a zebra only.
Trivia: The tour guide told us that animals there are provided with the same habitat they had in Africa. Amazing huh? This made me think that on this safari, animals are taken care of and with that thought, my heart jumped with so much joy.
Loving, I must say. You are amazing Cebu Safari!🥰
In the picture, the Cheetah was peacefully resting. People who were there kept signaling the Cheetah to move near the audience, but with no effect. My daughter who was eager to interact with the Cheetah was patiently waiting for the Cheetah to come closer. I guess the Cheetah was not in the mood to entertain guests at that time.😅
Are you enjoying the adventure with us? Yeah, continue reading and there are more coming from the WILD.
Yeah, we passed by a crocodile place, and mind you, it was scary to see them in person. I was actually trembling while passing over them. They stayed in a swamp under a steel structure and people will just walk through that steel thing. I could literally see their teeth-so sharp! Any meat could be eaten in just a snap of the finger I guess.😅
Behind this fence, where different species of winged animals I was not familiar with. The Ostrich, that I knew, came near to say hi to us. It seemed to enjoy the company of people who took tons of pictures with it. Thanks for the warmth Ostrich!
Yeah, we saw turtles too. There were many turtles actually. They were neighbors with the sea otter and many more. My daughter kept on insisting to go inside so she could touch the turtle, but, it was forbidden.
Gibbons and Orangutan
These animals are part of the family of Apes. Watching them was enjoyable especially when they would swing back and forth to the trunks and ropes provided for them. They did not come near us, but from the distance, we could really see the enjoyment they had while doing what they do best-climbing and swinging.
Here we had a glimpse of the beautiful deer and peacock. I wasn't able to instantly take a picture when the peacock spread its feathers, but, yeah we saw it and it was extraordinary!
Bird Show
The bird show was our last stop. There were many people present and honestly, I was asking myself where the people came from because I was not able to see them during our walk. I answered my own question by thinking that the location of the safari was so wide and vast and that everyone couldn't see each other; unless enclosed in one place, just like in the bird sanctuary.
All species of birds were shown during the show. They sang, danced, and even solved puzzles and Math problems. Cool yeah? The finale was the Eagle. Everyone was instructed to sit down before the Eagle was called to come out. I was a bit scared and held my daughter closely. When it was finally out, everyone was struck by the grandeur it possessed. Such a beauty! To see it for the first time is a memory nobody could erase!
After the show, the trainers together with the head trainer were introduced and we applauded them for a job well done. The head trainer was originally from Singapore. Amazing right?
There were still various animals we met and interacted with along the way but, sadly, I failed to take photos of them.
What have I learned in this experience?
Though we were not able to visit the White Lion Safari and Michel's garden because we ran out of time and got tired, the adventure was still worth it. I believe that it is a great way of bonding with family and friends. Doing an adventure together brings a family closer. Also, it provides memories that as a family we could cherish forever. I'm glad, we have given our daughter this one great adventure she could share when she grows old.
Furthermore, I and my husband realized that as a family, we should invest and plan for an experience like this- once a year could be just fine I guess. At least, we have ample time to save for our next one. We thank the Lord for this opportunity and blessing for we know that it is impossible without HIM.
If you have gone this far, let me tell you that I am grateful for the time you spent reading. YOU ARE AMAZING!
Till our next ADVENTURE...!
