In my previous blog Exploring Butuan City, i mentioned that my family and i recently visited Butuan City due to a family matter. Today, i would like to share more about our trip and where we ate.
We ate our lunch on our first day at a restaurant named Rosario. The aesthetic of this place is quite common but their food is very tasty. They serve Chinese and Filipino dishes like crispy pata, fried chicken, spinach soup, tofu and seafood.
At around 3pm in the afternoon, we decided to drive around the city to explore the place. To me, it looks just like Cebu City. I noticed that there are a lot of hotels emerging the city, a sign that many tourists are visiting. Vacant lots and shops are also everywhere.
While we were at the van, the driver, who's a homegrown Butuanon and a long time employee of our uncle, shared a lot of history of places we stopped by and stories about our ancestors during their time. I also enjoyed the music in the stereo. We drive around for about 2 hours before heading to the next destination.
Before going to dinner, we attended a mass at St Joseph Cathedral Diocesan Shrine. There's a saying that when a person visits a church for the first time, his/her prayers will be granted. So i prayed for my heart's desires.
We walk around a bit while waiting for the van to fetch us going to the restaurant for dinner. I love watching the city lights especially at night time.
Dinner was at Lime and Zest Restaurant. Food and service is highly recommendable. Since we were in a huge group, we dine exclusively on the tables up stairs. My favorite is their sushi and shrimp tempura.
After dinner, we went back to our hotels at around 9pm and called it a day. It was exhausting yet fulfilling day for us. We cant help but be knocked out as soon as we hit our beds. We said good night and doze off.
I'll share the last part of our trip on tomorrow's blog. So stay tuned, friends 😊
Sending some love and light,
