Happy Friday, my dear Hivers! It's rainy season again here in my side of the world. The weather forecaster said that an intense rainfall is about to come in somewhere in our area.
My agenda for today is to attend a seminar at Nustar Hotel. Although the whole day event was tiring, I can fairly say that it's equally enriching. Common topics includes digitalization, leadership, adopting to change, and new BIR rulings. It's actually an event for accountants. Our department head is one of the speakers so the whole team is here to support.
Here's three different drinks from three different people. It just goes to show that we can't be everyone's come of tea because everyone has a their own preference.
Lately, I've been thinking a lot about my accounting career. During events like this where accountants, from different fields, are coming together, I can sense how immensely proud each individual carry their titles. Whether you're coming from the government sector, public practice, education, or in private corporations, there's just something to be proud of as an accountant.
But I'm no longer considering my achievements as something to take pride about. In one of my conversation with my mom, who's also a CPA, we talked about topnotchers and how their lives has been 5-10 years from the board exam. Our university has produced 3 1st placers in history. So we dig deep into their lives and found out that the 1st topnotchers is now dead, the 2nd one is in public practice, an audit partner in one of the most prestigious firms, and the recent 1st placers is in education sector- a professor in a review center. These people may or may not love their profession but one thing is for sure, it is their pride that brought them to a higher position.
As for myself, I'm no longer interested in all these things. I figured that my interest is far from my profession, such as blogging, trading, exploring AI, and other activities. But while I'm still here, Im gradually finding ways on how to shift vocations.
Nevertheless, I'm glad I met my colleagues from my previous job and my classmates from University days.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
With love, Jane
