It's better late than never. Happy international women's day.
In connection with the International Women's Day HivePH community have this question Where should a woman find strength? and more others in the March Blogging Contest.
Everyone can feel down, sad, stressed and depressed but everyone is trying to be strong as possible. Everyone has their own source of strength and for today's blog let me share where I am getting my strength.
God
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalms 46:1 King James version
If you believe in God, He is a source of strength. We can depend on Him in every problem or trouble that we have in our life.
There were times that we cannot open up our problems to our spouse, to our parents, to our siblings or even to our friend. When this time comes, don't forget that there is Someone, there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Talk to Him like a friend and ask Him to give you strength to overcome all the trials and challenges you have been through.
Spouse
To those married, I know one of your sources of strength is your partner. When I felt so tired and seeing my husband showing great effort for our family I then say to myself, Never give up, I need to help him, I need to support him.
This is one of the advantages of having a partner, when you felt down there is someone who will encourage you and will support you to stand up again.
Friends
Friends, real friends is also a source of strength. I remember when I was still a student and once a working student, there were times that I felt so tired physically and mentally that I almost gave up but they were there to lift me up with their advices and hugs. Oh hugs really helps. It so good to think to have some shoulder to cry on.
Child
Being a mother, my son is one of my greatest source of strength. I know a child is also a source of stress, lol but I can't deny he really gave me strength. Baby's smile, a child's hug, a child's greetings, a child simple way of helping, a child showing some effort is really melting my heart. They were so powerful as they could turn frown into smiles with their simple kisses. They can turn sadness into happiness by their simple smiles. They can turn a weary body into something with renewed strength by their simple hugs. Indeed, children is a blessing. They were like angels to give us strength and comfort when we were down.
Family (parents and siblings)
My parents and siblings is also my source of strength. I remember when our father died, we are so drained, physically tired, mentally and emotionally weak but having our family beside us will always give us strength to move on.
There were times that we might have misunderstanding with our siblings, but the love for each other will always remain.
We have different sources of strength but whatever it is or whoever it is, thanks God that you have them in your life. They were God's instrument to help us.
When it seems you don't have someone to lean on, always remember and claim this:
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. -Philippians 4:13 King James version.
