Goodevening to all hivers out there. I hope you had a great day so far and you already consumed your dinner or breakfast if it's morning there.
Just the other day I made a blog with thing that we did before we plant our farm. The day has come and our living heroes, farmers here in our place did an amazing job again in transplanting the rice seedlings in our rice field. They did it yesterday and today that's why I'm tired, my whole body is hurting huhu.
As usual we woke up early in order to be an early bird in the field and to prepare the bundle of rice seedlings. I leave the planting to the elders and my uncles. Actually all of them are related to us, they are from my father and mother side. They say that a family that plants together, stays together.
Distributing the bundle of seedlings all through out the field was the one I did. I had to carry it by hands when distributing it. I also crushed some eggs of snails while I did it.
The total area of the field that we are planting is about one and half hectare. That's a lot right but we are just a tenant who's been trusted to take care of it so in harvest time, the owner always have their share no matter how abundant it is or how bad. They are living now in different country and they just have a right hand man here to oversee us.
Their total number were only 9 but I'm really amazed that they did it without any problem. It's just like an easy peasy job for them. Afterall they've been planting for so many years already and it became their source of income. Their price for a hectare is 6,000 pesos or around $120. That's expensive already, they increased it as the time passed by. Their snacks are not included in that one so another expenses.
What I observed from them when they were planting is that they've been talking to each others, telling stories, remembering the past and discussing some adult matters. As they talked, without them realizing they already finished their parts.
The weather today and yesterday is good and it's not raining. As you can see the sky is blue but there's a little bit of clouds in other areas.
They planted the 1 heactare today and they finished it around 3 pm.
As I looked at them, it seems they are not tired but I know that inside of them they are. My father said to them that before they go home, they will drink just little bit here in our house. This kind of thing already became like a tradition here after they plant. It's a sign of being thankful to them because if they didn't do it them our field will not be planted. As they take their shots, they are telling stories of the past which I enjoy listening to because my grandfather is used to be like that.
Ofcourse while I'm watching them to their thing, I can't avoid not to explore the surrounding so I took some shots of an spider and a bug.
My dogs were also with us, Blackie and Sarah. They are playful and at the same time hunting some rats but they have no luck at all lol.
My cat Shizu is better than them. They ran around the field patrolling the neigboring farm since they didn't make a move on it yet. I'm just so happy that they are so free to do their thing.
At the end of the day we are so greatful to God that atlast our farm will turn green again and later on into gold. We are praying and hoping that our harvest will be abundant this time and at the same time that there will be no typhoons, pests which can affect our crops.
And that's how my day went and thank you for reading once again.
