The First of the 26 Books To Read For 2023
December 4, 2023
In my last article Setting My Goals for 2023, I mentioned that one of my goals is to read at least 26 books this year. That means I have to finish a book within two weeks.
I already have a few books in my mind for this goal. For my first book, I chose 'Simplify and Create Abundance' by Bo Sanchez. This is not a new book. I bought this I think about 10 years ago. I wanted to read it again for years, but I thought someone borrowed it and forgot to return it, or I lost it already. However, two weeks ago, I found it.
About the Book.
The book is about managing personal finance from a religious point of view. However, the author's approach is quite unorthodox compared with the other religious preachers.
The book focuses on the story of the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. The author divides the journey into three stages and compared that with a person's financial journey.
- The Israelites in the desert --- when we don't have enough.
- The manna in the desert --- that's when we have enough.
- The promised land --- that's when we receive what he calls "Simple Abundance".
The ultimate lesson of the book is that, having a simple life is the key to an abundant and happy life.
Perhaps, I will write a review for each book that I finish reading.
I guess this is a perfect book to read at the beginning of the year.
May we achieve our dreams this year and live an abundant life.
Thanks for reading.
