Solea Hotels & Resorts opened a resort branch in Anda, Bohol, called Solea Reef Resort Anda. This is just 15-20 minutes away from our house, so when there was an opportunity, we decided to walk in for dinner. Their restaurant is called Kuma Cafe. We ordered dinner, then checked out the place while we waited for our orders to arrive. Actually, it took a bit of time, and we were already hungry. Anyway, these are our shots of the location:
This is the entrance to the lobby. The resort blended traditional Filipino vernacular architecture—specifically the nipa roof—with durable, modern materials like cement/concrete walls and solid wooden doors to enhance durability, security, and lifespan.
Entrance to Kuma Cafe. The curved entrance on the right is going to the washroom. They have clean washrooms and baths, and they even have Japanese-style toilets.
At Kuma Cafe, they have an exclusive room for those guests who request exclusive dining. I am not sure, though, if this has an additional fee.
I love the combination of wooden accents on their fixtures.
Going to the lobby, this is the view from the entrance. Notice how the native items make the structure extra Filipino-ish: the rattan furniture, the chandeliers, and even the ceiling. It has an ocean view, not so visible in this photo, though.
Because there were no other guests, we took this opportunity to take shots of ourselves. They got a Yin-Yang lounge here, and it looks extra pretty with the architectural design at the back. White or beige paired with wood really looks good in photos, do you agree?
It was fun taking photos here! By the way, we used a Fujifilm camera for these images. The resort, by the way, has a few rooms available for booking, 12 rooms, I believe, which have this terrace style, from Kuma Cafe, there's a staircase going down following the form of the rock on which the resort is situated.
Guests can access a white sand beach, not too big, though, but enough. I would say staying here means having an intimate and exclusive experience.
Coming here, we were accompanied by our youth friends; it was their first time coming here too. The resort has a clear view of Camiguin Island, and there's an infinity pool and lounges in the pool as well. There's an accessible bar right below the lobby floor.
Somehow, Solea associated some nets all over the resort. I believe this is not just for aesthetic purposes but also for protection and safety, as again it is located right on top of a rock, so there are cliffs around every corner!
We had waited a few hours, and it became nighttime. I understand that the staff were shorthanded, perhaps, they just had their soft opening a month ago, and maybe they don't have many guests, so they only have a few staff around. Good thing most of us were not hungry yet. We were okay waiting.
Here are some pics showing the view of the resort at night:
I wasn't able to take photos of the food as we dug into it as soon as it was ready. But overall, they have food options which were good, like the salmon and adobo, while the others were somehow weird, but they serve a lot of rice, like it covers almost the whole plate!
That's it for today! Thanks for reading!
