Hello everyone 🤗 👋
Today's just an ordinary day but I find it very special because I'm always happy seeing the
whole family slowly changing their habits into eating some healthy foods.
I visited mama in her house and good thing I find a lot of veggies and eggs on the table. I'm interested to prepare the food for today's lunch😊We're a lot in the family so that's why when we gathered around the table to eat , foods will also be of many choices 😁
Mother is always happy seeing me visited her. She's grateful I came because mother and I have the same taste when it comes to favorite dishes. My other siblings are all boys, I'm the only girl in the family, and my favorite spot in the house is the kitchen😁and I always looked for something to cook and eat😁
Since I found a lot of fresh bitter melon,carrots and cucumber what I did was made it into a salad or bitter melon, carrot and cucumber pickled ( in my next blog I will show to you how's it being done)
So it's perfect, ingredients were complete and I started preparing it.
I didn't use vinegar on it, I just added lemons for the natural soury and a little salt, sugar and pepper.
What I liked it the most was that it's being pickled with the other veggies --the bittermelon, my favorite of all didn't taste so much bitter because of its sweet and sour taste of sauce.
And then I also scrambled eggs, kids loved so much this omelette fried in a little amount of oil or butter.
And then I cooked also stir fry bittermelon with eggs,before cooking this I used to soak this in a salt solution (water and salt to remove its bitterness) and I didn't use some soy sauce on it, just a plain salt will do.
And then I prepared a little pork (bones) soup.
My mama was already helping me with the pork soup ( nilagang buto ng baboy) because kids were in a hurry to eat, and it's almost 12 o'clock in the afternoon..
So when everything's done, we sit and gathered around, prayed and enjoying eating our home cooked meal for today's lunch..
We've finished the food with a gratitude in our heart , both enjoyed each other's company , and gathered around even in a simple and ordinary day.
