Hello everyone! It's me again, , back with another exciting blog post. Last January 26,2025 was our Sinulog sa San Remigio 2025. Since I didn't have the chance to go to the Sinulog in Cebu, I decided to go to our town's Sinulog instead.
I woke up early that time since it was also Sunday, and I had to wash my clothes, it would take minutes for me to finish since I was just using my hands to wash my clothes. Around 9:00 am, I started laundering my clothes, which was tiring since I had tons to wash, around 10:30, I finished washing all of them, so I decided to find clothes for me to wear in the Sinulog. Since I and my best friend planned to go to church, I was looking for appropriate clothes to wear. It's a good thing I have pants and also a nice shirt, and so since I felt a little bit dizzy at that time, I decided to take a nap for a while.
When it was almost noon, I decided to eat already since I didn't want my best friend to wait for me (their house is actually near San Remigio). After eating I brushed my tee and washed my plate. Then, I changed my clothes and put on a little of makeup (and I bought so, met, oo just in ca,se lol😭).
After that, I just waited for my best friend to finish eating and changing, and around 1 pm, we arrived at 7/11 since the road through the church was closed due to the street dancing. It was a good thing that when we arrived, it was the last group to present, and I was lucky because the last group to perform was from my barangay, I also have a best friend who joined there, so we immediately looked for her, and we were laughing when we saw her (she was so energetic), and I took videos of her while she was dancing (I'm so proud of her because it's her first time to join this kind of activity, and she even doesn't like to dance 👏).
Fast forward, after the street dancing, my best friend immediately went to the church for walking (it was super hot 😭), and when we arrived, my friend immediately looked for his classmates/friends, who are also my friends/schoolmates. While waiting for the showdown to start, we just waited for some of our other friends and did some small chit-chat since we don't see each other often even though we're just in the same school because of busy schedules.
Since we heard that the show would start at exactly p.m.pm, we immediately looked for a great spotold wat. Unfortunately,ly the place we found wasn't that gre. Itit was covered by a big tr,ee and the sun was blazing hot. A few minutes later, the showdown started. The area was filled with cheering anchit-chat while my friends and I watchedng intensely.
I was actually on the verge of giving up because it was super hot, but since I was already there, I needed to fight the heat. After the four contingents who presented, we decided to go to the Lapyahan (just at the back of the church/venue of Sinulog) since some of us were hungry, and tired, and we also wanted to feel a little bit of a breeze of air, so all of us decided to go there. We planned to buy some food. I and my best friend planned to buy some street food. I bought isaw and kwek-kwek, and then I also treated some of my friends, while the other two bought fried chicken and what they called "puso" since they hadn't eaten their lunch yet (and it was already 2 pm). After buying, we stayed in a small kubo and had some chit-chats there. After a while, one of our friends arrived, and then we made jokes about him being late (we planned to arrive around 1 pm, and he arrived around 2 pm, almost 3 to be exact).
After a while, we decided to go back since my other friends wanted to watch their barangay's performance. As the afternoon went on, it kept getting hotter. It was a good thing that we found a new spot to watch their Sinul. Wewe were now watching it in front, though it was kind of not a good spot for mbecausece I couldn'l see it clearly because some plants were blocking the vi. However,ut I would rate it a 7/10 since it's better than the first spot.
A few minutes later, I was craving a cotton candy, and I jokingly told my guy best friend to treat me to one, and he told me that he was broke, then we both laughed, but we still went for the cotton candy area, though. 😭. At the stall, I spotted my two classmates/friends who were also there watching Sinulog, and then I told my other friend to treat me and my best friend to cotton candy, and he immediately said yes, so I was very happy (HAHAHAHA live, laugh, love cotton candy 🫶🏻). Then we quickly took a picture since we had to go back to our spot since the performance was still ongoing.
Moments later probably around 4 pm, me and my other friends decided to go home already since we still had classes the next day. So we parted ways with our other friends since some of them had finished watching the Sinulog. We walked the venue until we went back to 7/11 (thankfully it was not hot anymore), and after that, I and my friend rode a tricycle and went home.
It was truly an amazing experience, not just because I got to attend another Sinulog in our town, but also because I got to enjoy the event with my friends. It felt different from the usual celebrations, but in a good way. I also learned that sometimes, the best moments happen when you least expect them.
Ending my blog with a quote: "Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory."— Dr. Seuss. This quote reminds me that we should cherish every experience, no matter how small, because one day, we’ll look back and realize how special those moments were. That’s all for this blog. See you in my next one! 🤍
