In cooperation with the GIRL SCOUT OF THE PHILIPPINES Cebu council. Conducted a 3-day Training for Basic Course. For Troop Leaders of elementary and secondary teachers last August 11-13, 2023 at Ilihan Integrated School. Ilihan, Tabogon, Cebu.
The first day of our training is the opening program with the Colors Ceremony. Color Ceremony is a way of showing our respect for the Philippine national flag. It was participated by all trainers, visitors, and all participants. Then The Rededication To The Girls Scout Promise and Law.
Next was the presentation of participants, trainers, guests, and Staff by the Council Executive Mrs. Venice Aunzo. Followed by Mrs. Marlie A. Bautro the Chief Trainer for her welcome address. Then, all the participants are singing the song entitled "We Change The World." and all was successfully well done. Lastly, we have the food for the dinner for free, and with the LIVE BAND. So much fun for the first day of our training.
Training for teachers is important?
Yes, it gives us the opportunity for continued professional development and to learn new methods, strategies, and skills. When we as teachers are equipped we can feel confident, happy, and motivated to achieve greater things for our students.
THIS IS OUR VENUE FOR BASIC COURSE TRAINING
The venue is very accommodating and well-provided with a good sound system, electric fans, and chairs, and most importantly they also provide free drinking water to the participants. The place is nature-friendly it is surrounded by mahogany trees and bearing fruit trees pomelo, jack fruits, Dragon fruits and more.
DRAGON FRUITS
The DRAGON FRUITS caught my eye's attention when I saw the dragon plant that bears many fruits very nicely. I know that it is a very delicious fruit and a many health benefits to our body which I found on the school campus. I feel very comfortable during our training it is the perfect venue for me.
THE MAHOGANY TREE
The school venue is surrounded by mahogany trees that give magnificence to the surroundings shadowing the venue and giving a very fresh air.
AIM FOR THIS BASIC COURSE TRAINING
This training aimed to equip the participants with the Five Basic Essentials of Girl Guiding / Girl Scouting, how to handle ceremony, and knot tying. This said training participated with 160 registered participants from three Districts. These are Sogod District, Borbon District, and Tobogon District.
SECOND DAY
Our second day of training begins with the color ceremony or flag raising participated by all training staff, Visitors, and participants in the quadrangle. Then go to the school complex for the next activities beginning with the prayer song. Then we have the Troop presentation about the Five Basic Essentials of Girls' Scouting. Every group presented and discussed their assigned topics very clearly and organized.
CAMPFIRE CEREMONY
Campfire Ceremony is one of the Scouting activities that have many presentations during the campfire like:
- All the participants make a big circle. In the middle is the campfire, then singing action songs.
- Campfire songs and lighting of the campfire.
- Campfire chat sharing of something new.
- Quieting songs and other presentations.
THE IMPORTANCE OF CAMPFIRE
It gives us a feeling of togetherness, friendship, developed closeness, and camaraderie while learning from one another.
THIRD DAY OF TRAINING
Our last day of training began with the opening prayer song everybody participated. Then searching for the queen of the Girl Scouts. I am also one of the selected participants. But I don't have photos of me during the activities.

THE IMPORTANCE OF KNOT TYING
It improves motor skills by using the eyes and hand coordination. And lastly is the closing program. For our three days Basic Course Training will equiped with knowledge and skills to train our young Girl Scouts in our school.
