Work immersion is of great importance to Senior High School students for them to gain more knowledge, experience, and connections that can help them in their future endeavors. Moreover, through work immersion, students' skills and competencies are put to test and practice.
Hello everyone! For today's blog, I will be taking you with me as I attended one of our school-related events that took place in one of the most visited places in Bogo City, Cebu.
Last June 09, 2023, our Grade 12 students had their Work Immersion Culmination at Marz Valley Nature Park at Banban, Bogo City, Cebu. We were invited by the management so we went there, full force and luckily, we were graced by the CEO and owner despite his hectic schedule.
Marz Valley Nature Park has been our constant work immersion partner since the beginning of the K-12 curriculum implementation. Our offering is TVL/SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding). We are privileged to be given the opportunity to have them as our work immersion partner. We have established a steadfast and unwavering partnership with them for a couple of years now. They have provided essential assistance and support to our students for them to be able to practice and nurture their skills in Metal Welding.
Pleasing our Palate
Before we started the program, we had our lunch together with the company staff and the students. Aside from preparing a sumptuous meal for us that surely pleased our palate, we really could feel their warm welcome because of the warm smiles of everyone there.
Recognizing Everyone's Effort
After sharing lunch with them, we prepared a short program which highlighted everyone's effort all throughout the immersion period. The program included the giving of the Certificates of Completion to the students for having successfully rendered 240 hours of work immersion as required, and for all the learning they have gained within that length of time.
We also listened to the inspiring messages from the CEO and from our School Head which both moved and motivated our students to strive harder in reaching their plans and dreams in life. And with a grateful heart, we also gave the Plaque of Appreciation to our immersion partner for making our students' immersion journey possible and memorable.
The program ended with a community singing of the song "Tuloy Parin".
WHAT MARZ VALLEY NATURE PARK OFFERS
After the picture taking, we took a minute to roam around and discover their new amenities. And these are the following:
I COULD NOT HELP BUT ASKED
What I was most interested about the place is its furniture- these tables and chairs made of Tugas tree or Molave tree which is known for its strength and sturdiness. (At the back of my mind, I'm pretty sure, this is expensive.) To feed my curiosity, I examined every little detail of the furniture. I could not help but asked one of the staff about these lovely furniture. According to him, this table set is in 6-digits worth. (I kennot! Hahaha)
We didn't stay long in the area because we still have things to purchase and prepare for our upcoming school and district classroom evaluation.
If you'd like to visit Marz Valley Nature Park and Restaurant by public vehicle, from the North Bus Terminal, ride a bus going to Bogo City or nearby towns. Ask the bus driver to drop you off at Eskina Banban, Bogo City. Motorcycle for hire is available. If through private vehicle, navigate through your Google maps.
This is all for today's blog. Be well. Be safe. Until the next writing.✨
