Hello fellow beach lovers! Were going to the beach is really great it feels like all your worries go away with the waves. There’s just something special about being near all that water. When you step onto the sand it’s like you leave all the stress from work or school behind you. You can feel your shoulders relax and you start to breathe easier.
The sea wind smells like salt and sand. The waves make a nice sound like music from nature. Sometimes when the wind picks up a little it blows your hair around and makes you laugh. You can taste the salt on your lips and it reminds you that you arr far from all the busy streets and buildings. The sound of waves coming in and going out is so steady it helps you slow down and just live in the moment.
This is what happened last time me and my friends just decided to go. We did not plan much but it was perfect. We texted each other early in the morning and said “let’s hit the beach!” Everyone said yes right away. We grabbed our bags and threw in whatever we thought we had need. No long lists or big plans just the idea of spending time together by the water.
We left early so it was not too hot. We brought what we needed a hat sunglasses and my favorite colorful shoes. The drive there was fun too we played our favorite songs loud and sang along the whole way. When we saw the ocean coming into view everyone got excited. We parked the car and ran straight to the sand kicking off our shoes to feel it under our feet. The sand was still cool from the night before and it felt good between our toes.
We did not forget coffee! We brought our own cups mine has Hello Kitty on it. I know it’s silly but I like it. We set up a small spot under some trees so we would not be in the direct sun. One friend brought a small portable stove to heat up the water. The smell of coffee mixed with the sea air was amazing. We sat on a big blanket and passed the cups around talking and laughing about nothing in particular.
We found a spot with not many people it was quiet just how we wanted. The view was great big trees gave shade and we saw green hills far away. The water was so clear you could see small fish swimming near the shore. Some kids were building sandcastles not too far from us and we watched them work hard to make the tallest towers they could. A few boats were floating out in the distance just sitting on the calm water.
While we drank coffee we watched the sky change. It was blue in the morning. Later it turned orange and pink because the sun was going down. Clouds looked like soft cotton balls painted with bright colors. Everyone pulled out their phones to take pictures but we also made sure to just look and enjoy it with our own eyes. The way the light hit the water made it shine like it was covered in gold.
It looked like a picture but better because we were there. We walked on the sand and found small things nice shells and smooth stones. We bent down every few steps to pick up something new. One friend found a shell that looked like it had little stars on it. Another found a stone that was shaped just like a heart. We put all our finds in a small pile and decided who got to keep which one.
I saw one shell with cool colors. I picked it up to show everyone. It’s fun how small things make you feel like a kid again you get so happy for no big reason. We started collecting more and more racing each other to find the best ones. We even made up a game where we had hide shells in the sand for each other to find. We laughed so hard when someone would dig around for minutes only to find a piece of seaweed instead.
When it got dark we went near the water to listen to the waves. We could see the moon starting to shine on the surface of the ocean. It was dark enough that we could see some stars in the sky too. Even if you just drink coffee and feel the wind at the beach it’s a perfect day. We stayed there until we could barely see our hands in front of us then packed up our things and headed home. Have you ever had a beach trip you can’t forget? Maybe we should go together sometime!
