Hi to all , this morning was just perfect for getting stuff from the garden. The sun was out and it felt so nice outside. I was super excited to finally pick everything we have been growing!
First i went for the chayote these things were doing awesome! The vines were packed with big healthy ones. Each one felt so heavy you know? It is crazy to think how small they were when we first planted them. Now they are huge.
Next up were the tomatoes. Our tomato plants were loaded with green and red ones. Some were still kinda green which are good for a bit of a sour taste and some were super red and ready to go. I just twisted them off and put them in my basket. Nothing beats the smell of fresh tomatoes especially when you grew them yourself.
Then it was time for the squash. The squash vines were all over the place with big leaves hiding the squash. We found a couple that were a good size all green and cool looking. They felt heavy when picked them up you could tell they were good inside.
Getting all these veggies is more than just getting food it is like a fun thing to do. It feels good to see all our hard work pay off. It is like we planted these tiny things, and now we get to eat them!
Back in the kitchen, everything looked so fresh. I could not wait to cook. We made a simple chayote stir fry a tomato salad and roasted the squash with some olive oil and herbs. It tasted amazing way better than stuff from the store.
Gardening has taught me to be patient and to keep going even when things are hard. It is also made our family closer since we all help out in the garden. And it is just cool knowing where your food comes from and how it was grown.
When we sat down to eat i just felt thankful. We are so lucky to have a little space where we can grow our own food cant wait to see what we grow next time
It sounds like you had a really great day in the garden! Its so nice to have fresh veggies right from your own backyard. If you ever feel like it is too much work just remember how good it feels to eat what you have grown. Keep enjoying your garden and take it easy when you need to!
Thats all for today blog
Thank you and happy reading to all
