WHY WE SHOULD HAVE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS, DURING CHRISTMAS??
Christmas decorations create a festive atmosphere, bringing joy and warmth to the holiday season. They help celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, reminding us of faith, love, and togetherness. Decorations like trees, lights, and nativity scenes also bring families together, creating lasting memories and a sense of holiday spirit.
Because of that, our school created an activity or competition called "Christmas in the Hallway," where we design our hallway or the area in front of our classroom with a Christmas theme. The design can also be connected to the theme chosen for our Christmas party. Our section decided that the theme of our Christmas party would be "Encanto." Encanto is a heartwarming Disney film about the Madrigal family, who live in a magical house in Colombia. Therefore, it is expected that our design will have a fiesta feel, with a focus on flowers.
After knowing about the competition, we immediately planned the design we would create, making sure it was connected to our theme. We searched to internet for ideas we could follow, listed the materials we needed, and assigned who would bring them or how much each our classmate could contribute.
THE PROCESS!!!
On the first day, we started putting up crepe paper to create the design. At first, we weren’t happy with how it looked, but we trusted the process, and in the end, the result was beautiful.
On the second day, we began decorating the hallway, as that was the only area included in the competition. We hung up streamers, which was a struggle because we had to climb on chairs just to reach high enough to hang them. But it was worth it because the outcome looked great.
On the last day, we pasted posters outside the classroom, and some classmates made flowers using various colors of construction paper and poster board to make the design look nice. Others also built a DIY Christmas tree.
We didn’t expect to still be working on the decorations late into the night. We stayed late because there were still many decorations to be put up, and not all of our classmates helped. But it was all worth it because the final result was beautiful.
The view of our building is amazing, and the hallways are colorful because all the students are very competitive. We truly feel the Christmas spirit here in our school.
The process of creating our DIY classroom Christmas decorations was a fun and rewarding experience. Although it took a lot of hard work, teamwork, and late nights, seeing the final result made it all worth it. Our Christmas decorations not only brought the holiday spirit to our school but also brought our class together. We truly felt the magic of Christmas, and it was a great way to celebrate the season while working on something creative and meaningful. This experience reminded us of the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and the joy of celebrating together.
