
The kind of empanada I want is on the crunchy side, its edges is really crunchy, the middle part was soft but still has crunchy part that fall apart when you bite it -that's crumbling part is actually the best! It's been a long time since I last had that kind of Empanada. That Empanada has been my favorite ever since Mama bought it as a Pasalubong during college. Back then it is still big and 10 pesos only. It has pork, and you can also find potato, egg and carrot in it. But the last time we bought it I didn't find much meat in it, they used chicken meat now by the way and they hard to find too haha. Good thing their dough is still so good that I enjoy it.
Now, we just had Empanada as a snack but its different to the Empanada I know. I often see this stall here in front of the Pick Up Shop and I always see their empanada being displayed in a small clear glass cabinet. And while buying cooked dish in a restaurant, I decided to check on them because it looks inviting too.
I already knew that it is different from the Empanada i'm used too, still, I want to give it a chance. I asked the seller how much one of those and the price depends on what flavor you will get. There's two flavors available, chicken empanada for 25 pesos and ham and cheese empanada for 20 pesos. I chose chicken flavor because I like it. Lol
It comes with its sauce too, it is lil sweet and sour. They gave me 4 sachet of it when I only bought two chicken flavor
There it is. I think it was fried to perfection. Its edges looks crunchy but its now. And I think it was cooked hour ago because it is still warm.
Here's what it looks like inside. As you can see on it's dough, it looks like a soft bread. Although the empanada I know has a soft texture inside, but its the kind that crumble and with soft texture in it. It really us the best empanada for me, its like that dough you often experience on a tart, yes, like that.
But, I also like this because the fillings was spread out and they really used real chicken meat in it, it is shredded chicken and it taste good. It is already okay even without the thick sauce but I prefer it with the sauce. It taste even better that without it
See i'm about to finish it but there's still its fillings unlike some that is not rich in fillings. And its really fulfilling guys, just one of is enough to make me full. Pair it with some drinks you're good to go already, hehe. I will definitely buy this again. I also want to try the ham and cheese flavor, maybe soon. Anyways we all enjoy this by the way, the oldies like it. I let Mommy F eat it even though it is bad for her. Just half because she's been eating just a boring dishes in the past week, especially now that she is avoiding chicken too -the only meat she can eat but because of allergy.... Aigoooo, bad allergy (╥﹏╥)
