It is a bloodbath right now.
As people cancel one after another how do we maintain the status quo? One will be promising and the others will throw shade at some.
Now how will I pick the next leader of the country? But before I lay down the qualifications that I picked let me tell you a short story.
When President Duterte mentioned that he is running for the said post. I was excited about what will happen to the country. With the arms of steel, I said to myself that we are in safe hands and rules probably may be implemented. The first few days were great laws are strictly implemented especially curfews. Our place is not the best area to stay late at night you can imagine Tondo the chaos and the lawlessness around.
But as the years go by, failed transportation and methodology with the IATF plus the messages that are not relayed every time. I am one of those folks who wished for him to resign.
Each time that we are talking some may say that I am a Yellow-tard, a silent one.
Now, picking for the next president is happening again. As most folks shift from one party to another how do I decide for my next president?
He / She should have a concrete plan with work-from-home arrangements.
This is a personal concern of mine. I love my job and the company that I am working with. However, due to restrictions and mandates with the government due to tax and other financial stuff that I cannot understand the candidate that can provide a great plan to implement WFH will be a huge plus for me.
There's a telecommuting act that has been passed but not all agreed to have such and it is "optional" and suggested.
I know that I have signed for the onsite arrangement so I will still comply with the work however, if worst comes worst then I might leave.
A solid plan for public transportation.
When the pandemic started public transportation has been a mess! Travel time exceeded more than the usual time and at times it doubled. Not only the time but also the fare!
I understand that they increased the fare because the public vehicles are not in their full capacity ( as suggested ). But right now since we are back to the 120% capacity, especially in the jeepney. ( Yung wala nang uupuan pero sisigaw pa ang barker na isa o dalawa pa ang kulang) I just hope that they will have the fare back to normal.
As a commuter, it is unfair that we pay the same amount but the service that we receive isn't justifiable.
I do not care about the educational background.
Some may raise an eyebrow at this one but in my case, I honestly do not care about it. I think they are all capable to run for the presidency if they already passed the guidelines mandated by Comelec.
Willingness to serve and can be seen helping.
I had been monitoring social media accounts of the frontrunners of the election prior to them running for the presidency. I am an auditor by trade so backtracking some details and digging deep is something that I enjoy. A person may say that some are already in the government thus they have "receipts" that they can show to some. But for those who are not, what are they doing in the past years?
I believe that if you want to do a huge jump. Little by little you should have secured your steps and played with the foundation well.
Plan with the pandemic management.
I think that this pandemic will be here to stay. Though we have some booster shots and other vitamins to boost the immune system a solid plan will be a fantastic add-on. I hate Duque for his poor performance in the responses to the pandemic. I always say that if they had secured the perimeter and did the travel ban early we could have avoided it... maybe
I think these are some of my concerns and so far a few have already hit the criteria that I set for myself.
Somehow it is hard to research now, as there's a ton of information spreading online but I guess that is how it should be.
I believe that whoever wins this election can be a help to our country. I will still be a good citizen abiding by the laws and regulations. Though I may still express discontentment at times 😃.
Always remember we are the ones being served not the other way around.
