Hello Hive PH Community. This is my another entry for #kwentongkusina .
It's Wednesday afternoon when I saw this vibrant green color bitter gourd leaves in my husband's Aunt fence and I can't help myself but to asked some as I am really craving for some leafy vegetables. Before we went to that house I also asked my husband if we can go to the farm to pick some kulitis but unfortunately the road is too muddy that's why it was cancelled.
My favorite recipe for bitter gourd leaves is the one with sardines but it also good if you make a salad out of it or add it in a mungbean soup or other soupy dish.
My father is an Ilocano and because of that I grew up appreciating those leafy vegetables that can be seen in our backyard.
The recipe that I will make is really easy , affordable and nutritious. Sardines has some protein and omega3 , tomato has some lycopene and bitter gourd leaves is also well known as nutritious food. I remember when I am low blood my mom will told me to eat some bitter gourd.
Ingredients:
Bitter gourd leaves
Sardines
Tomato
Garlic
Onion
Fish Sauce
Water
Oil
Procedure:
. We need to get the bitter gourd leaves out of the vines and wash it.
. Slice some onion , garlic and tomatoes according to your desired cut. I preferred more tomatoes because it gives a flavorful flavor to the soup.
. Prepare a pan and sauteed the garlic , onion and tomato.
. Add the sardines and water and add some fish sauce. Aa for me I used the can of sardines and add 2 cans of water.
. Add the bitter gourd leaver, cover it and turn off the heat.
. Serve it and enjoy! That's easy right?
