Cómo ya se ha hecho costumbre para mí, todos los años hago unas "predicciones" para dejar constancia de lo que creo pasará en la temporada de Fórmula 1, algunas categorías que incluyo son con base en los titulos a otorgar por la FIA como los campeonatos y el premio de rookie del año, otras son circunstancias latentes con respecto específicamente a este temporada y los equipos, como la dupla de Cadillac y si Doohan sería reemplazado y unas simplemente por diversión como la victoria 33 de Fernando Alonso o quien liderará el campeonato de destructores. Este año tengo un sentimiento agridulce porque a pesar de que acerté varias, en otras fallé épicamente, pero no los entretengo más aquí la predicción vs. la realidad.

As has become customary for me, every year I make some ‘predictions’ to record what I think will happen in the Formula 1 season. Some of the categories I include are based on the titles awarded by the FIA, such as the championships and the rookie of the year award, Others are latent circumstances specifically related to this season and the teams, such as the Cadillac duo and whether Doohan would be replaced, and some are just for fun, such as Fernando Alonso's 33rd victory or who will lead the destroyers' championship. This year I have mixed feelings because although I got several right, I failed epically in others, but I won't bore you any longer with the prediction vs. reality.

Campeonato de pilotos/Drivers championship

Esta fue una de mis predicciones acertadas, sabía que los Mclaren iban a ser muy fuertes este año y que se tendrían el uno al otro como equipo (no entraré a profundidad a hablar de las "papaya rules" ni de favorecer a uno u otro, eso lo haré otro día), pero si tenía la certeza de que esto les favorecería y que tendría como desenlace en qué el senior del equipo fuera campeón, como contra prestación sabía que Max no tendría un "escudero" bien fuera Lawson o Tsunoda y que esto le dificultaría mucho en sus estrategias, eso sí, sabía que iba a estar ahí presente en la pelea porque es para mí es el mejor piloto de la historia moderna e iba a sacar el mejor rendimiento del carro y hacer uso de sus talentos, indiscutiblemente lo hizo hasta el último minuto. Oscar en tercer lugar porque tenía fé en que lo hiciera bien, pero aún no es su tiempo de ser campeón, necesita más experiencia en manejarse bajo presión cosa que siento le pasó a Norris el año pasado.

I knew that McLaren would be very strong this year and that they would have each other as a team (I won't go into depth about the ‘papaya rules’ or favouring one or the other, I'll do that another day), but I was certain that this would work in their favour and that it would result in the senior member of the team becoming champion. In return, I knew that Max would not have a ‘wingman’, whether it was Lawson or Tsunoda, and that this would make his strategies much more difficult. However, I knew that he would be there in the fight because, for me, he is the best driver in modern history and he was going to get the best performance out of the car and make use of his talents, which he undoubtedly did until the very last minute. Oscar came in third because I had faith that he would do well, but it is not yet his time to be champion. He needs more experience in handling pressure, which I feel happened to Norris last year.

Campeonato de constructores/ Constructors championship

Wow! No sé cómo empezar está categoría, estaba muy segura de que Mclaren repetiría este campeonato pero no pensé que a Mercedes le fuera tan bien ni a Ferrari tan mal a tal punto de ni siquiera ser top tres, lo de los italianos es increíble, cada año se las arreglan para hacer un auto peor, seguir cometiendo errores de estrategias y parece que a Hamilton le costó mucho adecuarse a este auto, es el peor resultado que tienen en años en este campeonato. De aquí, es necesario recalcar que Verstappen le dió a RedBull el tercer lugar, ya que aporto aproximadamente el 90% de los puntos, se hace necesario que RedBull cambie su dinámica de los segundos pilotos para que puedan volver a pelear por este campeonato.

Rookie del año/ Rookie of the year

A pesar de que aquí la predicción fue acertada y el desempeño de Antonelli fue muy muy bueno como se esperaba, quedando séptimo en la general, con algunos podios e incluso una pole position, tengo en mi corazón el rookie del año es Isack Hadjar, porque sacó lo mejor del cacharrito de los Racing Bulls, llevándolo en múltiples ocasiones a la Q3, logrando un podium, sacando 20+ puntos que su compañero y posicionando a Vcarb en sexto puesto en el campeonato de constructores. No es que lo de Kimi no tenga mérito, pero el carro de Mercedes es superior al de los demás rookies.

Mejor equipo de media tabla/ Best team of the midfield

Yo honestamente, no sé en qué estaba pensando cuando puse Alpine o bueno, si lo sé, en la temporada 2024 a pesar de tantos contratiempos lograron quedar sextos en el campeonato de constructores, así que pensé que sería algo similar, no me imaginé que el rendimiento fuese tan decadente como para tener dos pilotos (Doohan y Colapinto) que no sumarían ni un punto y por el contrario JAMAS me imaginé que el rendimiento de Williams podría llegar a ser tan bueno, la confianza de Albon en el carro, el proyecto de Bowles y la experticia de Carlos Sainz les dieron su mejor posición en una década, estoy muy contenta por ellos, espero que el carro del 2026 sea igual o mejor.

Con respecto a las otras predicciones, desafortunadamente Fernando Alonso como lo había dicho no logro su victoria 33, quien sabe si el próximo año con el carro hecho por Newey lo logre, le tengo más fé. Tampoco tuvimos un DNS, DSQ y DNS reunido en un mismo piloto y la dupla de Cadillac está compuesta por dos veteranos Checo Pérez y Valtteri Bottas, no por dos mexicanos como había vaticinado. Asimismo, Jack Doohan fue reemplazado muy prematuramente por Franco Colapinto, honestamente no sé porque lo ficharon si sabían que lo iban a terminar reemplazando con el argentino.

As for the other predictions, unfortunately Fernando Alonso did not achieve his 33rd victory, as I had said he would. Who knows if he will achieve it next year with the car made by Newey? I have more faith in him. We also did not have a DNS, DSQ and DNS all in the same driver, and the Cadillac duo is made up of two veterans, Checo Pérez and Valtteri Bottas, not two Mexicans as I had predicted.
