A veces pienso que se olvida que en el béisbol se deben seguir las estadísticas y si yo fuera lanzadora, en el primer envío no le tiraba nada bueno a José Altuve porque este tiene la viveza y la costumbre de hacerle swing al primer lanzamiento. Parece que Bailey Ober el lanzador abridor de los Mellizos de Minnesota no lo sabía y pagó las consecuencias porque al primer envío el pequeño gigante de Venezuela mandó la pelota más allá de los límites del terreno.
Cuatro carreras más anotarían los actuales campeones en las entradas tres y cinco. En estos dos innings los de Houston anotaron 2 carreras, para poner el juego 5 carreras por cero, cuando se estaba jugando la mitad del encuentro.
Del lado opuesto el lanzador de los Astros Justin Verlander mantenía a raya a los Mellizos y cuando abandonó el encuentro habían transcurrido seis entradas y el choque le favorecía. Todo apuntaba a una fácil victoria para el equipo y otra a su cuenta personal. Sin embargo, lo que ocurrió en el inning siete fue de espanto porque los de Minnesota pizaron la registradora en cuatro ocasiones y pusieron a temblar a los espectadores y al propio lanzador abridor que no podía creer lo que estaba sucediendo.
Cuando terminó el séptimo episodio para el equipo visitante el juego estaba más reñido que nunca, pero, nuevamente apareció Yordan Álvarez, el mejor bateador del encuentro para conectar su segundo jonrón y ampliar un poquito màs la ventaja de los campeones de la Serie Mundial anterior.
Así terminaría el juego porque ninguno de los dos equipos lograría anotar nuevamente.
Muchos elementos se pueden destacar de este encuentro como lo fue el hecho que los actuales campeones de la Serie Mundial iniciaron con buen pie la defensa de su título, el bateo oportuno de los ganadores aprovechando el bateo de fuerza que conectó tres jonrones por intermedio de dos de sus más oportunos bateadores en play off el venezolano José Altuve y el cubano Yordan Álvarez.
Por su parte Verlander estuvo inmenso y, pese a su veteranía supo salir de las pocas complicaciones que tuvo a lo largo del tiempo que estuvo en el box.
Por su parte los Mellizos no corrieron con la misma suerte que sus adversarios quienes sí supieron aprovechar los hombres en circulación para llevarlos al home. No obstante, estuvieron al punto de darle la vuelta al marcador al castigar a uno de los relevistas del equipo ganador.
Es cierto que este es un deporte de equipo, pero en el juego de hoy los Astros de Houston tuvieron a tres héroes indiscutidos en su victoria ante los Mellizos de Minnesota: José Altuve, Yordan Álvarez y Justin Verlander. Por tal razón podemos decir que la victoria de los campeones vigentes tuvo sabor latino y hoy se bailó al ritmo de la salsa de Cuba y Venezuela.

Many elements can be highlighted from this encounter, such as the fact that the current World Series champions started their title defense on the right foot, the timely batting of the winners taking advantage of the power batting that connected three home runs through two of their most opportune hitters in the play offs, the Venezuelan José Altuve and the Cuban Yordan Álvarez.
Verlander was immense and, despite his seniority, was able to get out of the few complications he had during his time in the box.
