La ciudad de Charlotte de los Estados Unidos es el corazón de NASCAR y como no si es el sitio donde encuentran ubicados la mayor cantidad de bases de equipos donde trabajan en cada uno de los autos para tenerlo listo cada fin de semana, cuando haya una competición. Además que allí se encuentro el centro de desarrollo e investigación de la categoría donde los autos son llevados para una revisión completa en el coche luego de ganar una carrera o encontrar una anomalía que se crea que esta fuera del reglamente. Lo mismo pasa con los autos de los pilotos penalizados tras cada evento. En fin a esto voy es que en esta localidad también se encuentra una de los óvalos más importante y este fin de semana se disputa la tercera carrera de la ronda de 12 de las eliminatorias de la Copa NASCAR, en la cual se definiría quienes avanzaban y quienes quedaban eliminados. Pero lo mejor es que la competición no era en óvalo sino que fue una combinación entre la parte interna de la pista externa (parte plana y el óvalo) lo que se conocer como ROVAL.

El ganador de esta carrera fue Christopher Bell del auto 20 de JGR y para sorpresas de muchos el campeón del año pasado Kyle Larson no podrá revalidar su título tras que quedar fuera de estos playoffs donde tuvo una mala carrera o al menos la suerte no estuvo de parte de él. El primer segmento de la carrera se dio inicio donde se darían las primeras 25 vueltas a Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL. Como se los dije la primera línea fue formada por Logano y Byron, donde la primera iniciaría la carrera en la línea interna, mientras que William lo haría desde la externa. Los pilotos que tuvieron problemas de los contendientes fueron Ross Chastain quien se fue contra el muro en una de las vueltas y debió irse a los garajes para reparar su coche, pero por suerte pudo avanzar de todas maneras por la ventaja que traía de la anterior carrera.
