El pasado fin de semana estuvo lleno de mucho automovilismo y a pesar de algunos inconvenientes, no quise dejar pasar la oportunidad de compartirles el acostumbrado resumen semanal de lo que fueron las carreras de la semana. En la categoría reina, el piloto Max Verstappen de RedBull continuó su supremacía en la Fórmula 1 al lograr la victoria en el Gran premio de Italia. Por otro lado, el campeonato mundial de MotoGP también vio acción con el Gran Premio de Cataluña. Y finalmente la serie de la copa NASCAR dio comienzo a sus playoffs con la primera carrera de la ronda de 16 en Darlington, consiguiendo la victoria el piloto del equipo Hendrick Motorsports del auto 5 Chevy, Kyle Larson, quien con esta victoria logra lo que es su pase directo a la siguiente ronda de las eliminatorias, donde un paso más en la lucha por el campeonato 2023 de la serie más importante de autos Stock.
El gran premio de Italia estuvo llena de emociones, sobre todo los días viernes y sábado de la semana pasado, cuando se disputaron las prácticas libres y es que el equipo Ferrari se veía muy fuerte, sobre todo Carlos Sainz quien lideró algunas sesiones de entrenamientos, pero más importante fue que se quedó con la pole, en un fin de semana donde el formato fue distinto a los anteriores, siendo este similar al del Gran Premio de Hungría y a lo que debía ser en Imola, pero debido a la lluvia, no se pudo dar. Para recordar un poco el formato consistía que en la Q1 debían usar llantas duras, en la Q2 el compuesto medio y en la Q3 en compuesto blando. Además otro punto en tomar en cuenta es que la cantidad de neumáticos para el fin de semana se redujo de 13 a 11, por lo cual los pilotos debían rodar más vueltas con el mismo compuesto y dejar de hacer pruebas importante en el coche, algo por la cual pidió disculpa Fernando Alonso luego de la clasificación.
Otro punto que condicionó todo el fin de semana es que cada equipo tenía 3 sets de neumáticos duros, 4 medios y 4 blandos, para el total de 11 ya mencionado. Realmente esto no aporta nada para el espectáculo, siento que es un sin sentido que además limita el trabajo del fin de semana previo a la carrera. Pero a pesar de esto, todo fluyó bien, con una escudería Ferrari que ilusionaba no solo a los tifosis, sino a todos los fanáticos de la F1 quienes quieren ver ganar a un equipo que no sea RedBull y la escudería italiana tenía la oportunidad de lograr, y que mejor que en casa y en la catedral de la velocidad, como lo es el circuito mítico de Monza.
Finalmente esto no pudo ser, Max Verstappen tuvo una gran carrera, a pesar de quedar en la segunda posición en la clasificación partió bien, casi le arrebataba la primera posición a Carlos Sainz, aunque en español la logró mantener, pero la ilusión duró unas 15 vueltas y desde allí el piloto de Países bajos de la escudería de la bebida energética no tuvo rival. Muchos tenían la esperanza en Ferrari, pero en lo personal siempre me supuse que como ha sido en toda la temporada, RedBull es superior en carrera, sus pilotos suelen controlar la competencia al cuidar sus llantas. Este fue el caso de Verstappen y Checo Pérez, quienes quedaron primero y segundo, con Carlos Sainz en la tercera posición y muy cerca del español, su compañero de equipo Charles Leclerc, incluso a pesar de que Ferrari pidió que no arriesgaran, estos quedaron a pocos décimas. Destacar también la carrera de Alex Albon de William quien viene haciendo unas carreras destacadas. La decepción Fernando Alonso y Aston Martin. En cuanto al campeonato mundial de Motociclismo, la categoría corrió en el circuito de Cataluña, Barcelona, España, el mismo que corre la F1. Lo cierto es que en la categoría reina sigue el dominio de las motos de Ducati, pero en esta oportunidad con triunfos tanto en la carrera corta, como en el evento principal de español Aleix Espargaró, piloto de la moto 41 del equipo Aprilia.
