Debo confesarles estimado lectores que para mí escribir este post ha sido muy placentero, ya que me siento muy identificado con esta disciplina desde mi adolescencia, estoy seguro que para la mayoría de ustedes el nombre de este ciclista extremo esta relacionado con la disciplina, constancia y las ganas de hacer las cosas bien, el caso de Daniel Dhers es interesante, debido a que cuando pequeño no le gustaban las bicicletas, incluso es recurrente en sus entrevistas oírlo decir que se caía de estas, aún con las ruedas de soporte con las cuales todos cuando niños damos nuestras primeras pedaleadas.

Daniel Dhers es un caraqueño de 35 años y ciclista profesional de BMX de renombre internacional, esta rankeado en la modalidad de Estilo Libre entre los mejores 5 del mundo, que nació en el municipio Chacao, al este de la ciudad capital, Venezuela, a la edad de 12 años comenzó según él a mostrar interés por manejar bicicletas de cross junto con sus amigos de la cuadra, a los 16 años sus padres deciden radicarse en Argentina y es allí donde tiene contacto con ciclistas argentinos que le enseñan el depurado arte del estilo libre, también llamado ciclismo urbano.

No todo ha sido color de rosas para el rider venezolano ya que en el 2003, un día antes de los X Games de Brasil se rompería la parte baja de la espalda en una practica ensayando el salto que lleva su impronta, el famoso Cash Roll, el cual lo haría permanecer en la palestra del top 5 de este deporte hasta la fecha, en una entrevista dada a la cadena deportiva más grande del mundo, ESPN, dijo que gracias a ese accidente que casi le cuesta la vida pudo darse cuenta que el BMX era lo que le gustaría hacer el resto de sus días, la lesión que tuvo también afectó columna lumbo sacra, costillas y rodilla derecha, tras largas sesiones de fisioterapia y rehabilitación pudo recuperarse en un 90% , después de este accidente no ha tenido otros de gravedad, este accidente señala Daniel Dhers que dividió su carrera en un antes y un después, señala que ahora está maduro en la disciplina BMX estilo libre y estudia todas las variantes en juego, cosa que antes con la juventud no tenia claro, el lema que ahora tiene este famoso venezolano, es de muy vieja data y dice así: No hay mejor Maestro que un Error.
