Hive Carabobo hivers have been organizing recreational activities every weekend and have adopted me, taking advantage of my stay in the city of Valencia, I love this since you know I love to do things hahaha. This weekend we coordinated to go hiking in El Café hill, located in Naguanagua; yes, places have very strange names in this city and in Venezuela in general 😂.
El sitio de encuentro fue en la Universidad de Carabobo a las 7am, una vez allí caminamos un tramo de aproximadamente 20 minutos e iniciamos el ascenso, fuimos 10 hivers los que aceptamos este reto. Yo estaba muy feliz porque he estado haciendo bastante senderismo últimamente y siempre ha sido una actividad que me encanta realizar desde que vivía en Caracas y subía en cerro El Ávila religiosamente, pero debo confesar que ninguno de nosotros se esperaba que este recorrido fuese tan extenso. Aquí les dejo una foto de más o menos el inicio del cerro, al fondo se puede observar la punta más alta, hasta allí llegamos.
The meeting point was at the University of Carabobo at 7am, once there we walked a stretch of about 20 minutes and began the ascent, we were 10 hivers who accepted this challenge. I was very happy because I have been doing a lot of hiking lately and it has always been an activity that I love to do since I lived in Caracas and climbed El Avila hill religiously, but I must confess that none of us expected that this route would be so extensive. Todo el recorrido fue hermoso, la vegetación era bastante variada, pero predominaban los pinos. Cada cierto tiempo había miradores donde podíamos descansar y apreciar las distintas vistas de la ciudad, algo que me encanta es que habían mucha plantas con flores rosadas a las cuales siempre me gusta tomarle fotografías por su llamativo color. Me causa un poco de gracia que a mitad de camino ya teníamos hambre 😂 pero no llevamos nada para comer porque todos pensamos que a eso de las 11am ya estaríamos de bajada, pero a esa hora íbamos como a la mitad del camino jajaja
The whole tour was beautiful, the vegetation was quite varied, but predominantly pine trees. Every so often there were viewpoints where we could rest and appreciate the different views of the city, something I love is that there were many plants with pink flowers which I always like to take pictures of because of their striking color. It makes me a little funny that halfway we were already hungry 😂 but we did not take anything to eat because we all thought that at about 11am we would already be down, but at that time we were about halfway hahaha.
Nos divertimos muchísimo en esta aventura, el clima estuvo bastante agradable así que no tuvimos que preocuparnos tanto por el sol. Debido a que este cerro tiene muchos senderos es un lugar que frecuentan los ciclistas, así que nos topamos con varios grupos de amantes de la adrenalina que incluso en cierto momento nos regalaron un poco de agua. El último tramo fue el más fuerte ya que era una subida bastante extensa, pero saber que al llegar a la cima tendríamos una vista increíble nos impulsaba a seguir; aunque bueno, hubo algunos que quisieron tirar la toalla 😂😂 por esto siempre es bueno salir en grupo, porque la presión social te da ánimos para seguir jajaja
We had a lot of fun on this adventure, the weather was quite nice so we didn't have to worry so much about the sun. Because this hill has many trails it is a place frequented by cyclists, so we ran into several groups of adrenaline lovers who even gave us some water at one point. The last stretch was the strongest because it was a fairly long climb, but knowing that when we reached the top we would have an incredible view pushed us to continue; although there were some who wanted to throw in the towel 😂😂 for this is always good to go out in a group, because the social pressure gives you encouragement to continue hahaha.

Our guide juniorgomez was showing us certain paths that were more visually pleasing and when we reached the top we could confirm that he was right when he told us that the view would be crazy. The colors, the atmosphere, the energy, everything was beautiful; we could appreciate a great part of the city and in the background the lake of Valencia whose blue color was almost indistinguishable from the blue of the sky, it was something magical. After taking many pictures and videos, we headed to some small cabins at the top, where you can sit and rest before proceeding to the descent, but as we were all hungry we were only there for about 30 minutes 😂 yes, I need to go back to that place to practice yoga, I think it would be another level.
Toda la aventura duró unos 8 horas en total, pero valió totalmente la pena. Este es el tipo de actividades que más disfruto y me hace muy feliz saber que los hivers están activos para próximas actividades deportivas, eso sí, en la siguiente aventura tengan por seguro que nos va a sobrar la comida 😂 Nos leemos en los comentarios, abrazo virtual para todos ❤️
The whole adventure took about 8 hours in total, but it was totally worth it.
