El Manchester City anula todo fantasma de eliminación al obtener una victoria aplastante en dónde Erling Haaland anotó cinco de los siete goles conseguidos por el equipo dirigido por Pep Guardiola.
Hace dos semanas cuando en Alemania, específicamente en el estadio Red Bull Arena, se enfrentaron el RB Leipzig y Manchester City; este encuentro que terminó con un empate por un gol por bando fue polémico por dos jugadas que favoreció al club local, la primera fue el gol del defensor central croata del Leipzig, Joško Gvardiol, el cual significó el empate y el otro fue un penal en el último minuto del tiempo añadido, un penal a favor del club visitante que no sancionado por el árbitro principal y el VAR. En este juego fue evidente algunos factores (aparte de las polémicas) que influyeron en el resultado final; primero fue el evidente cansancio por parte del ManCity que tuvo un gran desgaste físico en el primer tiempo y en el cual no obtuvo un mejor premio, ya que solo pudo anotar un gol; justamente el cansancio del club inglés influyó en la mejoría del Leipzig que jugó mejor tanto en la defensiva cómo en ataque; esto me hizo pensar que como ocurrió en la pasada temporada, el equipo de Pep Guardiola sería víctima de cansancio y lesiones en la parte más importante en la temporada y eso aumenta el riesgo de una temprana eliminación.

Recordemos que para ese primer juego, el ManCity no contó con Kevin De Bruyne y aunque es un jugador importante para el juego de este club, creo que otro factor importante fue el esquema que usó Guardiola el cual es 3-2-4-1, un esquema donde lo más resaltante fue ver a Bernardo Silva como acompañante de Rodri, su posición no era tan adelante, sino que estaba en ese lugar, preferiblemente en la zona derecha para cubrir las espaldas de Walker que debió cumplir funciones de carrilero por la derecha, pero muy adelantado; después de brevemente refrescar la memoria, tenía la expectativa sobre qué cambios haría Pep para este importante encuentro y a pesar de que repitió el esquema, sí que hubo cambios en el 11 titular. Para el encuentro de hoy quien acompaño a Rodri en el medio campo fue John Stones, central derecho, pero en esta oportunidad cumplió la función de mediocampista defensivo que turnó esa posición como cuarto defensor si el momento lo requería; otro cambio fue el de usar tanto a Grealish y Bernardo Silva por los costados, dejando en el medio tanto a Gündogan y De Bruyne quien en mi opinión formaron un rombo teniendo en las puntas a Rodri y Haaland; justamente este último se vio beneficiado por estos cambios en la manera de jugar porque termino anotando cinco goles en los 90 minutos del encuentro; justamente los otros dos goles los anotarían, De Bruyne y Gündogan.

Siendo sincero posiblemente este sea un encuentro que se puede definir como una demostración clara de contundencia contra otro que lamentablemente no pudo aguantar el ritmo de un equipo siempre considerado como favorito para ganar este torneo; la realidad es que lamentablemente el mal desempeño del árbitro principal, me refiero al esloveno Slavko Vincic, quien junto con los árbitros del VAR tomaron decisiones consideradas como polémicas, como por ejemplo el penal que fue sancionado por mano del defensor Benjamin Henrichs, este jugado estaba de espalda a la jugada, pero la extensión de su brazo hizo que tanto el árbitro principal y VAR dieron por correcto la sanción del penal; la segunda jugada polémica proviene en la jugada previa al segundo gol de Haaland, está comienza por una presión del delantero noruego al portero del Leipzig, Blaswich; en mi opinión existió la falta porque lo toca en su pierna de apoyo antes.de que el portero despeje el balón; está jugada me hizo recordar a la que sucedió entre Benzema y Donnarumma, en los octavos de final de la pasada temporada en la UCL; para terminar está la jugada donde Ederson sale de su área y busca despejar el balón, pero termina impactando al jugador rival sin en ningún momento tocar el balón; este fue un gran fallo de toda la terma arbitral que dejó sin amonestación al portero del ManCity y lo peor fue que terminó amonestando a Timo Werner por protestar.

A pesar de los fallos arbitrales, no hay duda que la actuación de Erling Haaland es algo para destacar; cinco goles en una fase eliminatoria no se veía desde que Messi anotó cinco goles contra el Leverkusen en el 2012 por el juego de vuelta de los octavos de final de esa misma temporada; es anecdótico de que los goles anotados no es la única semejanza entre lo hecho por Messi hace 11 años y lo la actuación actual de Haaland; cómo dije ambos juegos fueron en partidos de vuelta de octavos de final, jugaron de local, jugaron contra clubes alemanes, el resultado final fue de 7 goles a favor del equipo vencedor y ambos jugadores estaban dirigidos por Pep Guardiola; la única diferencia entre ambos es que Haaland le tomo 57 minutos para lograr esa hazaña, en cambio, Messi anotó su último gol en ese encuentro pasado los 80 minutos de juego. No tengo duda que los fallos arbitrales tuvieron influencia en el juego y no me gusta hacer referencia a eso, pero tampoco puedo decir que fue determinante, ya que la manera del ManCity de jugar presionando al rival bien arriba, metiéndole en su área, controlando el balón y siendo contundente fue lo que llevo a que este juego tuvieron un resultado tan abultado para el club local; pienso que está victoria era necesaria para demostrar que este esquema es posible mientas los actores estén en buenas condiciones físicas y esperando que jugadores como Foden, Álvarez, Mahrez, Walker, recuperen un alto nivel y así ayudar a su equipo para conseguir tan ansiado título.

I have no doubt that the refereeing mistakes had an influence on the game and I don't like to make reference to that, but I can't say it was decisive either, as ManCity's way of playing pressing the opponent high up, putting them in their area, controlling the ball and being forceful was what led to this game having such a big result for the home club; I think this victory was necessary to show that this scheme is possible as long as the players are in good physical condition and hoping that players like Foden, Alvarez, Mahrez, Walker, recover a high level and help their team to achieve the long awaited title.
