FIESTA NERAZZURRI, UNA PILSENER Y ARRIVEDERCI BARÇA [ESP/ENG]

El único equipo checo que había sabido imponerse al Inter en competición europea fue el Sparta de Praga y lo hizo como local por marcador de 3-1. El Inter no sabe lo que es caer en casa ante ningún equipo checo, y el balance general de enfrentamientos contra equipos de dicha nacionalidad era absolutamente favorable al cuadro Nerazzurri con 6 victorias, 2 empates y la ya mencionada derrota ante el Sparta. El conjunto Interista habría de conquistar su décima victoria ante equipos de la República Checa.

El Inter saltó al terreno de juego del Giuseppe Meazza con la firme intención de coger su boleto a Octavos de final y guardarlo bien en el bolsillo y, de paso, con ello matar cualquier esperanza de un milagro blaugrana, pero en los primeros compases del juego, el conjunto local daba la impresión de ir por debajo en el marcador, los de Inzaghi se palpaban ansiosos, buscando un gol casi como fuese, quizá dejándose arrastrar por la tensión del graderío, o por el vértigo de tener el objetivo tan cerca en una temporada tan convulsa.

The only Czech team that had ever beaten Inter in European competition was Sparta Prague and they did it at home by a score of 3-1. Inter had never lost at home to a Czech side, and the overall record against Czech teams was absolutely favourable to the Nerazzurri, with six wins, two draws and the aforementioned defeat to Sparta. Inter took to the field at the Giuseppe Meazza with the firm intention of punching their ticket to the Round of 16 and keeping it firmly in their pocket, thereby killing off any hopes of a Blaugrana miracle, but in the early stages of the game, the home side gave the impression of being behind on the scoreboard, Inzaghi's men looked anxious, looking for a goal almost by any means possible, perhaps being swept along by the tension in the stands, or by the vertigo of having the goal so close in such a turbulent season.

Y si bien Dzeko no llegó a firmar el primero del Inter, sí que estuvo para rubricar el segundo, corría el minuto 42’ larguísima pelota con precisión milimétrica cortesía de Nicoló Barella para Federico Dimarco que en carrera se inventó un pulcrísimo control de pelota para acto seguido asistir de inmejorable forma al delantero bosnio de 36 años de edad que firmaba el 2-0 previo al descanso. El Inter supo vencer su propia ansia y desesperación para firmar la paz consigo mismo y encaminarse a la ronda de los mejores 16 en Europa, apagaban las alarmas, desaparecían los fantasmas, se respiraba la fiesta.

But that longed-for first goal did not arrive because the figure of the goalkeeper Stanek was getting bigger under the Czech goal and the anguish began to be felt in a certain part of the Inter stand, an anguish that would succumb in the 35th minute when Inter finally cracked the bucket after so much carrying it to the water: Bastoni reached the back line and lifted a cross to the far post, Dzeko did not reach the goal but Henrij Mjitarián arrived on the second line to find the net. 1-0 for Simone Inzaghi's men, who were watching from a box.

And although Dzeko was not able to score Inter's first goal, he was there to score the second. It was the 42nd minute, a long ball with millimetric precision courtesy of Nicoló Barella for Federico Dimarco, who made a neat control of the ball to then assist the 36-year-old Bosnian striker in the best possible way to make it 2-0 before the break. Inter overcame their own anxiety and desperation to make peace with themselves and head for the top 16 in Europe, the alarm bells were silenced, the ghosts were gone, the party was in the air.
