Todo comienza en las fiestas de fin de año familiares, más específicamente en año nuevo, en la cual yo no estuve presente, pero a través del grupo de WhatsApp familiar fui testigo de los acontecimientos. Después de un año sin verlo, llego un hermano realmente transformado físicamente. Ya venía realizando actividad física, pero en este último año, su transformación fue impresionante. Eso y otros detalles, persuadió a mi hermano Oriel (Coco cariñosamente) a:

En épocas de vacas flacas, le vendí una bicicleta fija y esta fue el puntapié inicial, para que el arranque con los entrenamientos. Cabe destacar que Oriel, es padre de 3 y abuelo de 2 nietos. Una persona que trabajo desde niño en el campo y luego en la gran ciudad en la industria textil. Aparte de fumar un atado y medio de cigarrillos por día. Nunca pensó, ni se sintió merecedor concurrir a un gimnasio. Todo esto y mucho más (en otras publicaciones les contaré), me motivaron a suspender el reto que estaba por iniciar y hacerle la segunda. Como corresponde y para entrar en calor, lo llevamos a Don Juan a la colonia de vacaciones.

El gimnasio está distante 5 cuadras de nuestro domicilio y digo nuestros, porque él vive pegado a la mía. Elegí estratégicamente el gym, casi justo en la parada de colectivo donde él baja cuando regresa de su trabajo, motivo por el cual, cuando empiece a trabajar (ahora está de vacaciones), no tendrá excusas para no ir. Intentaré anclar el hábito de entrenar casi todos los días. Me tengo mucha fe y confió plenamente en el que lo logrará.
! [English] I could feel the excitement and adrenaline he felt when he entered a gym for the first time in his life. The gym is 5 blocks away from our home, and I say our, because he lives right next to mine. I strategically chose the gym, almost right at the bus stop where he gets off when he comes back from work, so when he starts working (he is on vacation now), he will have no excuses not to go. I will try to anchor the habit of working out almost every day. I have a lot of faith in myself and I have full confidence in him that he will make it.
La mayoría de los seres humanos, tenemos hermanos con los cuales tenemos más afinidad y con otros no tanto. No es que no lo queramos, sino que existe mayor/mejor comunicación y demás. Bien, Oriel es ese hermano que siempre está con nosotros, conmigo y con sus sobrinos. Es el que realiza los asados en su casa y siempre está invitando a todos los hermanos, para que lo visiten. Con Miguel, el hermano mayor, son los más parecidos a nuestro padre, Don Poloncho Benítez. Amantes del agua sucia (vino, cerveza y demás), pero seres honrados, trabajadores y sobre todo buenas personas.

Aunque no lo crean, este señor llego a pesar casi 100 kg y hoy en día, por los años y diferentes cuestiones de la vida, está casi en su peso ideal. Pero, como es normal a nuestra edad, todo se cae y eso es casi inevitable. Por ello y además, luchar con su adicción de fumar, es que el gimnasio es una buena alternativa.

Por suerte, encontramos muy buena onda en el local. El muchacho responsable me conocía, ya que era cliente mío, cuando tenía el almacén. Por supuesto, el enfoque era mi hermano y luego de las preguntas de porque arrancar el gimnasio, decidió que el tren superior trabajaríamos hoy. Luego de abonar ($20.000 c/u), nos pusimos manos a la obra y con la ayuda de una entrenadora que hace personalizados, pudimos conocer las máquinas y realizar las tareas. Veremos si el mes que viene, nos adjuntamos a los personalizados.

Debo reconocer que la primera impresión cuando comenzamos a entrenar, que constaba de hacer bicicleta fija por 10 minutos, no me gusto el estado de las bicicletas. Para ir terminando, quiero contarles que estaba a punto de arrancar un reto de 100 días, con rutinas que obviamente incluía burpees, sumados a otros ejercicios. Pero ante esta loable eventualidad, lo pospuse para arrancarlo más adelante.
