Como ya mencioné en publicaciones anteriores como ¡HAY UN NUEVO REY EN FRANCIA! uno de mis hobbies en el año futbolístico es apoyar a equipos de futbol que no sean grandes dentro de la competición en la que participen y estar atentos a que logren lo improbable.
As I mentioned in previous posts such as THERE IS A NEW KING IN FRANCE!, one of my hobbies during the soccer season is to support soccer teams that are not big names in their competition and watch to see if they can achieve the improbable.
Justamente en ese orden de idea vamos a hablar de la victoria menos esperada en el año la cual se produjo justamente al finalizar la temporada y con el estreno de un nuevo torneo. La Copa mundial de Clubes 2025 con 32 equipos participantes y que quizás debería cuestionar la forma de clasificación de alguno de ellos y como nos quedamos sin ver a uno de los mejores equipos del año participando, pero nos desviaríamos del tema.
In that vein, let's talk about the most unexpected victory of the year, which came at the end of the season and with the launch of a new tournament. The 2025 Club World Cup, with 32 participating teams, perhaps raises questions about how some of them qualified and why we didn't get to see one of the best teams of the year participating, but that would be straying from the topic at hand.

FuenteNos vamos directamente a lo que nos encontraríamos en la final de esta copa del mundo que avanzo para demostrarnos que los equipos sudamericanos tienen con que pelearles a los europeos pero que sin embargo después de un golpe de realidad volverían a ser los del viejo continente los que se impondrían.

En la Final de esta primera edición nos encontrábamos con 2 equipos que llegaron en condiciones completamente diferentes, y tomando caminos notablemente desiguales hablamos del PSG Actual Campeón de Champions Legue y de toda competencia en la que estuvo participando siendo un claro dominador en todas ellas, y el Chelsea que venía de ser campeón en la 3era competición internacional más importante de Europa, la Confenrence League.
In the final of this first edition, we had two teams that arrived in completely different conditions, having taken remarkably different paths: PSG, the current Champions League winner and dominant force in every competition it participated in, and Chelsea, which had just won Europe's third most important international competition, the Conference League.

Speaking of those uneven paths, we find that with the keys that both teams faced before the final, PSG eliminated teams such as Inter Miami, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid in a crushing manner, with that historic 4-0 victory over the white team in the semifinals.
Mientras que el Chelsea tuvo un camino mas “accesible” pero sin llegar a ser demasiado fácil, donde elimino al Benfica, al Palmeiras y Fluminense de Brasil, donde tuvo que depender de un gol en propia puerta para eliminar al segundo equipo antes mencionado ya que estaba siendo bastante igualado el encuentro.
While Chelsea had a more “accessible” path, but without it being too easy, where they eliminated Benfica, Palmeiras, and Fluminense from Brazil, where they had to rely on an own goal to eliminate the second team mentioned above, as the match was quite evenly matched.

Unexpected Result
FuenteMas allá de que el Chelsea se haya alzado con la copa con todo lo mencionado anteriormente sobre la previa a la final, fue el como se dio el encuentro lo que realmente me parece sorprendente, vimos que el equipo ingles domino el encuentro desde el primer momento y el PSG que nos tenia acostumbrado a aplastar a sus rivales, sea cual sea, no tenia ideas ni modo de reaccionar ante el planteamiento del rival.
Beyond Chelsea winning the cup with everything mentioned above about the run-up to the final, it was how the match unfolded that I found truly surprising. We saw the English team dominate the match from the outset, while PSG, who we had grown accustomed to seeing crush their opponents, whoever they may be, had no ideas and no way of responding to their rivals' approach.
Cole Palmer hizo una noche de ensueño convirtiéndose en el creador de todos los ataques con peligro del equipo y además definiendo par de goles y una asistencia antes del medio tiempo, si bien en el segundo tiempo Luis Enrique pudo hacer reaccionar al equipo, no pudo ni siquiera abrir el marcador contra los blues y terminarían quedando a 1 paso de la temporada perfecta.
Cole Palmer had a dream night, creating all of the team's dangerous attacks and scoring two goals and providing an assist before halftime. Although Luis Enrique managed to get his team to react in the second half, they were unable to even open the scoring against the Blues and ended up falling one step short of a perfect season.

Para un amante y ex practicante del futbol como yo me parece que no hay nada más sorprendente en el año 2025 que esta final, una donde seguramente las casas de apuestas sacaron mucha ganancia porque era un resultado completamente impredecible y que nos devuelve a la realidad de que no importa como llegaste, una final se juega en la cancha y es solo 1 Vs 1.
For a soccer lover and former player like me, I think there is nothing more surprising in 2025 than this final, one where the bookmakers surely made a lot of money because it was a completely unpredictable result and one that brings us back to the reality that no matter how you got there, a final is played on the field and it's only 1 vs 1.
Espero que durante la nueva temporada nos encontremos con casos muy similares a este donde el equipo “Chico” o menos favorito logre darnos algunas emociones, no le tengo tanto cariño al Chelsea ya que le gano la final de la conference a mi equipo el Real Betis jajaja, pero si le tengo respeto por lo que hizo ante un gran rival como es el PSG.
I hope that during the new season we will see similar cases where the “underdog” or less favored team manages to give us some excitement. I am not particularly fond of Chelsea since they beat my team, Real Betis, in the Conference League final, but I do respect them for what they did against a great rival like PSG.
