Y no es que creyese que en el deporte no se puede perder porque iría en contra de mi propia filosofía, tampoco que las derrotas fueran a manos de atletas desconocidos ni mucho menos, pero la historia, forma deportiva y comportamiento en la temporada de los favoritos hacía que prácticamente fueran medallistas de oro en el citado campeonato.
Pero, lo anterior solo demuestra la grandeza del deporte y lo bien que debe prepararse cada atleta para poder alcanzar los máximos resultados a nivel internacional y demostrar que, para alcanzar el lugar de honor de una competencia no basta con ser favorito, hay que demostrarlo.
Duelo por tocar el cielo
Esta no fue una prueba que se ganó con una marca impresionante ni mucho menos. Es más, desde hace mucho tiempo es de la competencia que se gana con los registros más discretos. Pero estaban atletas de reconocido prestigio y calidad, como para hacer de esta una prueba muy interesante.
En la prueba estaban los dos últimos campeones olímpicos que, en Tokio compartieron la medalla de oro, uno de ellos, además era el vigente campeón mundial y estaban otros atletas que en los últimos años han estado compartiendo el cuadro de medallas de las principales citas internacionales.
