Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle. — Napoleon Hill Read
If you're going to meet your younger self, would he/she even recognize you?
I was away for quite sometime, going into pursuits outside social media. From someone who was chronically online to someone who is now with the physical world.
The world has changed, and so have I.
I went from jobless to a newbie. Then from a newbie to managing hundreds of people. From being locked out from the society, to being the one who open doors for other people to be a builder and contributor to this wonderful world.
Going the Distance
We may have crossed paths and went on to our individual lives, never to meet each other again. We may have outgrown our old selves, but it doesn't mean that what we did years before were of little value.
It doesn't mean that we became happier and are living our life again, that we are ashamed of our pasts. It also doesn't mean that because we are focused on new things, we diminish the truth and reality that others are still suffering or may have took a little bit longer to move past through their obstacles in life.
If you are a part of a minority being oppressed by irrational rules or by a bigger conflict, don't get tired to be the voice of the silence. You may not be heard by everyone, but never back down. Make it louder and stronger. Someday, everything will change for the better.
Remember, the world we have right now is a wonderful place to live in. It is only the greedy people that make us believe the opposite.
Next Steps
I can "claim" how much I had lost because of the struggles that I have been through five years ago, but without those hardships, I may not have gotten the experiences and things that I have right now.
As they say, "one step backward, two steps forward!"
To me, it is a big leap forward. I already have a lot right now, but I can't wait to see the world become more free and inclusive to the diverse minds out there. We may not share the same principles or culture, but as temporary dwellers of this world, we should keep in mind that nobody owns anything (forever).
You may have a grasp of wealth in your lifetime, but that will eventually come back to nature.
Be open, be kind, be understanding.
Build a life that does not only benefit you or your children, but also those who have less access to freedom or opportunities in life. So when they finally break free from what is limiting them, they can too be a catalyst for this positive cycle of awareness and growth.
So, the answer is, you may no longer be the same person, but that old you is happy that you finally had the opportunity to change for the better; without fear of being threatened or pinned down.
