It was really a stressful day, waking up, get dressed and jump to the street of Lagos, searching for interested people in the streets of lagos to let them hear about hive.
In this post I listed some Marketing tips to onboard skilled and talented users on hive, one of those tips is street marketing, and it was a wonderful experience engaging in hive street marketing.
Before now it was a radio broadcast and there was much positive response but now it's a physical street marketing.
How it all started.
Good things are not made for just one person, growth always comes when there is a team collaborating together, i believe people need to hear about hive.
It has always been a thing i love doing, telling people around me about hive and i have successfully unboarded so many people but thats not enough, hive needs more people and how will their hear if no one tells them.
I started by branding myself with hive t-shirt and hive exercise book that made me to stand out and a point of attraction as i move on the street of Lagos, people were asking what is Hive.
Some said they know if one hive technology, but that is quite different from hive, blog, so i have to give proper explanation.
Myself on the street
Tho its challenging when you are all alone in marketing but i was bold because i knew hive is the best social media platform anyone can join, i also know the amount of data people around me waste on web2 social media where they gain nothing neither do they have authority over their accounts, that was a motivation to me.
Tools for marketing.
I needed some fliers that contains hive website for easy sign up and a contact for people who wish to join, so i went ahead to print about 45 pieces of flyers that cost me 15$ both designing and printing.
Already before i left home i had a target and my target was searching for talented people like talented musicians, crocheters, needle workers and other skilled people who will bring more value to hive.
So i started with searching for talented singers, i went to studios, music schools, and where they sell musical instruments.
The challenges i faced.
Marketing comes with some challenges, especially lagos is a very busy place were you hardly get peoples attention on anything new, and the fact that people come up every day with different forms of fake projects and at the end if the day they scam thousands of people have made it difficult for some people to accept that hive is legit.
Another challenge i faced was loneliness, at some point i wanted to visit a music center i got scared because the stairs to the music center was so quiet and dark, I had to step back because lately there are so many reports of missing people.
Many have not heard about web3 before and it doesn't seem real to them, they didn't even allow me to have a picture with them because they were soo scared about their privacy and security because of what the system had turned to.
A music school i visited where so concerned about their data and identity, its quite unfortunate that people post whatever they like on Facebook but when they hear web3 they become concerned about their data information.
But i recorded success.
End result.
I was able to distribute 25 fliers and i got contacts of some people who are interested but have never authorized me to sign them up.
Yes it was stressful but i was happy that the street of Lagos heard about web3, nothing good comes easily, before i joined web3 social media it took my mentor months to convince me so am not expecting immediate positive results, I have to put more effort to achieve success in hive marketing.
My goals.
I love hive and i have to let people know about hive, currently am working on holding a seminar with the title Hive for entrepreneurship and this seminar will deliberate on how hive can help an entrepreneur to build herself and reach the goal of financial freedom.
This seminar is going to be mainly for skilled workers who have already started their journey of entrepreneurship and they need support and tips to help them grow, hive is just what they need.
Stay tuned while i update you on my progress on Hive marketing.
I love Hive
