The Hunt Continues
Another week down on the hive blockchain and another few badges added. Since joining the hive community I have been blogging a ton and didn't really look into or know what badges were all about. I kept getting a hive buzz from my post saying I reached so many upvotes or comments and whatnot, but never really knew what it meant. It is a cool thing to see when I post and hit a new milestone but couldn't figure out what they were for.
Mainly they are just badges you get for doing things on the hive blockchain achievements as you could say and who doesn't like achievements. When I started to look further into it I saw there were a ton of badges to get other than just the ones for upvotes, comments, and posting.
Here is what my badge collection looks like currently. My 2 newest additions are the Papillion charity one which I received by giving 1 HBD to for their weekly charity giveaway it's an awesome project and if you want this badge as well or just to help a great cause here is a link to the post so you can find out more: Give To Win Weekly Charity.
My next one was a HUGE accomplishment it was my coveted weekly author badge which you get for posting every day for 7 days straight. This was a really big one to check off the list as I love to post and blog but didn't know if I would be able to do 7 straight days of posts. I could have taken the easy way out and just posted some small articles or my daily rewards from Splinterlands but I didn't want to do that for this badge. I wanted to see if I could do 7 days of good posts talking about different things and I did just that. Not only was it fun but all the posts did great I was quite shocked to see some of my payouts and it has driven my motivation even further to continue with the daily posts. It also looks like it stacks up I'm at level 1 currently but will be looking to get that up over the future.
In The Crosshairs
The next badge I'm currently looking to get will be the monthly author one. That is a massive undertaking posting for 30 days straight but I look forward to the challenge. I have to wait till December to start that one but it is right around the corner and that badge will be mine.
Some other very difficult badges to get like the daily top-upvoted or commented will be a long shot away I hope I can get one of them in the future but it is gonna take some serious work and dedication. I'm all here for it and loving everything about the hive blockchain as a whole. Thanks again to the one and only for showing me how to do all this and encouraging me to keep going with it. The community and people here have made this such a fun and exciting time to be part of this and I look forward to what the future of this amazing platform holds for all of us.
Also these two badges for powering up on power up day, it is at the start of the month and you get them for.
- Powering up your account with at least 10 hive
- Powering up a smaller account with at least 10 hive
Now there are some rules and requirements to this so I will link the post here so you can read it yourself and look into all the info required to get these badges: Hive Power Up Day. Overall not too hard to get if you the extra HIVE and even though HIVE has pumped a lot lately I encourage you guys to do this now and check this one off the badge list.
Honorable Mentions
3500 Upvotes total on my posts since starting in August WOW still shocked to see how far I have come and how my hard work has been recognized. The next big goal for me is 5k and then 10k I strive to make the best posts I can and am learning more every time so I expect to see that 5K goal pretty soon and then on to 10K.
Ah, this one is also very special my first hivefest badge thankfully it was in VR so this one was not hard to get. However, this is a massive badge for me it is what introduced me to even more amazing people on this platform. I met up with in the altspace VR and had an absolute blast playing games and networking with a lot of amazing folks here. It was an incredible experience and look forward to doing it again next year. I think it may be a live event next year which is truly amazing I would love to travel and meet some of you in real life, but currently, that is not much of an option for me. I don't have my passport and it can cost a lot to travel which is currently out of my budget for the foreseeable future, I hope that there is some kind of hybrid event for all the people that are in the same situation as myself. Either way, this was a great experience and want to do it again.
Final Notes And Looking Ahead
Overall this has been a great way to get more involved in the hive community and a huge shoutout to for creating this wonderful project for all of us. I will leave you with this excerpt from the song youth by The Midnight. I could not agree more with what is said in the following statement and have since gone from just blogging about Splinterlands to blogging about all the awesome things here on HIVE. I'm still mainly blogging about Splinterlands but now I have been motivated to join the Actifit community recently and look forward to starting to do some posts in there about my daily walks. I want to be involved in so many things here as this is such an inspirational community and makes me want to be better each and every day.
A computer is an educational device,
It's in fact a direct reflection of
Your own imagination, your own intelligence
And once you're given the freedom in which to
Create things and see the immediate response on the screen
Then it becomes a very enjoyable experience,
You go on to involve yourself in many other things
