Han sido el par de días centrales del evento BlockchainCon Latam 2023 los más emocionantes de mi vida. No les exagero. En #Web3 se construye lento pero seguro. Y la resiliencia necesaria para haber llegado al lugar donde nos encontramos, nos la dio el batallar 35 años como empresario en Venezuela. Pero una cosa es haber sido empresario y otra muy diferente construir comunidad propietaria. De estar acostumbrado a dar órdenes que debían ser acatadas sin chistar, pasar a crear concensos y a bajar la cabeza por la naturaleza propia del pulso comunitario, ha sido un duro camino de transición entre Web2 y Web3.
A central couple of days of the BlockchainCon Latam 2023 event have been the most exciting of my life. I am not exaggerating. In #Web3 we build slowly but surely. And the resilience needed to have reached the place where we are now was given to us by 35 years of battling as an entrepreneur in Venezuela. But it is one thing to have been an entrepreneur and quite another to build a proprietary community. From being used to giving orders that had to be obeyed without question, to creating consensus and lowering our heads due to the very nature of the community pulse has been a hard road of transition between Web2 and Web3.
Es por ello que comprenderán la emoción al representar nuestra colmena en el evento. Han sido seis años enriquecedores en #Web3. No me malinterpreten. Fue un muy duro inicio para mí. Comenzando porque era un incrédulo sobre las criptomonedas y compartía la narrativa sobre estafas que fácilmente nos endilgan por las diabluras que unos pocos realizan. La propiedad en comunidad es un concepto novísimo montado sobre blockchain y no pocos me vieron la cara de loco por dejar la vieja economía de lado para embarcarme en la aventura que hoy nos ocupa.
That's why you will understand the excitement of representing our hive at the event. It's been an enriching six years at #Web3. Don't get me wrong. It was a very rough start for me. Starting because I was a disbeliever about cryptocurrencies and shared the narrative about scams that are easily foisted on us by the devilishness that a few perform. Community ownership is a brand new concept built on blockchain and not a few saw my crazy face for leaving the old economy aside to embark on the adventure we are dealing with today.
Y nos ocupa porque solo hay por ver la sinergia producida en el equipo para hacer los últimos preparativos y el comportamiento en el inicio del evento como tal. El stand de HIVE se llenó desde un inicio con preguntas e interés de parte de los asistentes. 
And it occupies us because it is only necessary to see the synergy produced in the team to make the final preparations and the behavior at the start of the event as such. The HIVE booth was filled from the beginning with questions and interest from the attendees.

The day ended and we went to dinner. Then we went to the hotel to get some much-needed rest. With no incidents of any kind, the audience was eager to learn and that is the raw material for people to build on Web3. Nothing would prepare us for what happened the next day. Our partner
Fue el punto culminante de seis años construyendo. Paramos al público de sus sillas antes de comenzar la charla con dos propósitos: hacer que desperezaran sus cuerpos y ayudar a meter la conciencia en aquello de lo que íbamos hablar. Aplausos aislados por hacer eso. A continuación una especie de energía se apropió de mi cuerpo e hice mi debut en tarima. Tuve muchas charlas cuando era empresario, pero ésta era diferente ¿Por qué? Seis años de recibir miradas extrañas por la dedicación a construir futuro quedaron de lado. No puedo jamás ser juez y parte. Sólo el tiempo dirá que tan efectiva fue mi charla y quienes me escucharon habrán sido los testigos que lo entregué todo.
It was the highlight of six years of building. We stopped the audience from their chairs before starting the talk for two purposes: to get them to wake up their bodies and to help bring awareness to what we were going to talk about. Isolated applause for doing that. Then a kind of energy took over my body and I made my debut on stage. I had many talks when I was an entrepreneur, but this one was different Why? Six years of getting strange looks for dedication to building the future were put aside. I can never be a judge and jury. Only time will tell how effective my talk was and those who heard me will have witnessed that I gave it my all.
Fue muy emotivo para mí. Pararse en un escenario latinoamericano para hablar sobre Web3 y Blockchain fue emular a mi padre ya fallecido, un importante ex-funcionario latinoamericano en el gremio tributario. Fue llorar internamente para espantar los fantasmas de lo incierto, aderezado por la ignorancia sobre el concepto de comunidad propietaria. Fue materializar seis años de duro trabajo y vivir la historia en la construcción de realidades. Dicen que quienes estamos trabajando en Web3 somos unos soñadores. Y no les faltará razón, pero a diferencia de otros, hacemos nuestros sueños realidad. Y Hive ha sido para mí, el coach necesario para todo lo que me ha pasado en los seis años precedentes.
It was very emotional for me. Standing on a Latin American stage to talk about Web3 and Blockchain was to emulate my late father, an important former Latin American tax official. It was crying internally to scare away the ghosts of uncertainty, seasoned by ignorance about the concept of proprietary community. It was to materialize six years of hard work and to live history in the construction of realities. They say that those of us who are working on Web3 are dreamers. And they may be right, but unlike others, we make our dreams come true. And Hive has been for me, the necessary coach for everything that has happened to me in the previous six years.
Protagonizar la historia de la Web3 no era nuestro empeño cuando comenzamos en 2018. Pero las abejas somos así cuando trabajamos en colmenas productivas. Cada una tiene su rol y juntas construimos el pulso vibrante que nos lleva por los caminos de las mejores decisiones, así no nos gusten. El disenso es sumamente importante para construir comunidades orgánicas propietarias, sin él todas pasarían a ser una mera quimera. Hive es fuerte porque nació del disenso contra la centralización. Y nada más emocionante que representar a toda una comunidad que se levantó y dijo: "ésta vez no nos quitarán el sueño". Y cada hiver tiene el deber de construir el suyo propio trabajando en la historia de la nueva economía. Y nada que ha valido la pena ha sido fácil de conseguir. Starring in the Web3 story was not our endeavor when we started in 2018. But bees are like that when we work in productive hives. Each has its role and together we build the vibrant pulse that leads us down the paths of the best decisions, even if we don't like them. Dissent is extremely important to build organic communities of ownership, without it all would be a mere chimera. Hive is strong because it was born out of dissent against centralization. And there is nothing more exciting than to represent a whole community that stood up and said: "this time they will not take our sleep away from us". And every Hive must build its own by working on the history of the new economy. And nothing worthwhile has been easy to achieve. If I could, you can too, my bee.
