El día de hoy me emociona mucho poder compartir con ustedes la materialización de mi primer logro de este año, el cual fue posible gracias a #Hive, se trata de la remodelación de mi cocina, la cual necesitaba hacer urgentemente ya que no estaba en las mejores condiciones, llevaba casi 3 años planeando la remodelación pero más que eso necesitaba el dinero para poder dar inicio a este proyecto, así que mi pareja y yo nos dispusimos a reunir el dinero y finalmente este año logramos convertir ese sueño en realidad.
Today I am very excited to be able to share with you the materialization of my first achievement of this year, which was possible thanks to #Hive, it is about the remodeling of my kitchen, which I urgently needed to do since I was not in the better conditions, I had been planning the remodeling for almost 3 years but more than that I needed the money to be able to start this project, so my partner and I set out to raise the money and finally this year we managed to make that dream come true.
Mientras ahorrábamos dinero buscamos una persona que pudiera hacer este trabajo de remodelación, luego de explicarle lo que queríamos hacer esta persona nos dio una lista de materiales necesarios para el trabajo, así que poco a poco los fuimos comprando, lo que implicó varios viajes a la ferretería, la comparación de precios, marcas, calidad, asesorías, en fin, un sin número de diligencias que tuvimos que hacer para obtener todos los materiales.
While we were saving money we looked for a person who could do this remodeling job, after explaining what we wanted to do, this person gave us a list of materials needed for the job, so little by little we bought them, which involved several trips to the hardware store, comparison of prices, brands, quality, advice, in short, a number of errands that we had to do to obtain all the materials.
La mayoría de los materiales requeridos era de bajo costo, muy accesibles en realidad, lo que si era costoso era el porcelanato, ya que aunque lo ideal sería utilizar granito para los mesones era un material que su costo no podíamos cubrir, así que decidimos reemplazarlo por porcelanato y aunque la diferencia de precios era muy notable aún seguía siendo algo costoso. Por suerte ya teníamos una parte del porcelanato guardo que había sobrado de otro trabajo pero no alcanzaba a cubrir la cantidad que se necesitaba para la cocina, así que nos dimos a la tardea de recorrer todas las tiendas de la ciudad en busca del porcelanato con el mismo diseño del que ya poseíamos para poder completarlo y así ahorrarnos un poco de dinero, de lo contrario debíamos comprar toda la cantidad nueva y eso elevaría el costo. Por suerte, conseguimos una tienda que tenía este porcelanato que buscábamos, así que nos dirigimos hacia allá con una muestra para comparar y solamente quedaban 2 cajas, justo lo que nos hacía falta, sin pensarlo más las compramos y llevamos a casa, pero, al momento de utilizar el porcelanato nos dimos cuenta de que no eran exactamente iguales, eran muy parecidos mas no del todo iguales, sin embargo, se pudieron usar sin problema y ni siquiera se nota la diferencia.
Most of the required materials were low cost, very accessible in fact, what was expensive was porcelain tile, since although the ideal would be to use granite for the countertops, it was a material that we could not cover its cost, so we decided to replace it. for porcelain and although the price difference was very notable, it was still somewhat expensive. Luckily we already had a part of the porcelain tile I keep that was left over from another job but it was not enough to cover the amount that was needed for the kitchen, so in the afternoon we went to all the stores in the city in search of porcelain with the same design as the one we already had to be able to complete it and thus save us a little money, otherwise we would have to buy the whole new quantity and that would raise the cost. Luckily, we found a store that had this porcelain tile that we were looking for, so we went there with a sample to compare and there were only 2 boxes left, just what we needed, without thinking about it, we bought them and took them home, but, at At the time of using the porcelain we realized that they were not exactly the same, they were very similar but not quite the same, however, they could be used without any problem and the difference is not even noticeable.
Otra cosa que debimos comprar fue un fregadero nuevo, ya que el anterior no servía, por lo que se tuvo que reemplazar por completo y fue lo mejor ya que de esta forma tendríamos todo nuevo a estrenar en nuestra cocina, buscando opciones y modelos de fregaderos conseguimos uno que nos gustó mucho, de acero inoxidable y con una grifería hermosa que me encantó, así que ese fue el que compramos por un valor de 70$ que incluía todos sus accesorios.
Another thing we had to buy was a new sink, since the previous one was useless, so it had to be completely replaced and it was the best thing since in this way we would have everything brand new in our kitchen, looking for options and models of sinks we got one that we really liked, stainless steel and with a beautiful faucet that I loved, so that was the one that we bought for $70 that included all its accessories.
Una vez que teníamos todos los materiales se dio inicio a la remodelación, la cual fue a partir del día lunes 14 de febrero, ese mismo día los trabajadores deshicieron el mesón de la cocina para poder trabajar desde cero y hacer todo completamente nuevo.
Once we had all the materials, the remodeling began, which began on Monday, February 14, that same day the workers undid the kitchen counter to be able to work from scratch and make everything completely new.
El primer día además de derrumbar todo también rompieron las paredes para posteriormente colocar los planchones de los mesones y también una línea por toda la pared para pasar un tubo con cables de electricidad para poder añadir más tomacorrientes a la cocina, ya que en el área de los mesones solo había 1 y no era suficiente.
The first day, in addition to collapsing everything, they also broke the walls to later place the slabs of the counters and also a line along the entire wall to pass a tube with electricity cables to be able to add more outlets to the kitchen, since in the area of there was only 1 inn and it was not enough.
Agregaron una capa de cemento sobre el suelo que sería la base y parte inferior de los mesones y mientras tanto en el patio trasero hicieron los planchones para los mesones y dejaron por 1 o 2 días para poder usarlos.
They added a layer of cement on the ground that would be the base and lower part of the counters and meanwhile in the backyard they made the slabs for the counters and left them for 1 or 2 days to be able to use them.
En el cuarto día comenzaron a colocar los planchones verticales y algunos de los de la parte superior, mientras que el resto debieron hacerlos allí mismo sobre los demás, por lo que tuvieron que vaciar el cemento directamente en la base de los mesones y dejar secar.
On the fourth day they began to place the vertical slabs and some of the upper ones, while the rest had to be done right there on top of the others, so they had to pour the cement directly at the base of the countertops and let it dry.
Al día siguiente cuando ya todo el cemento estaba seco comenzaron a pegar el porcelanato tanto en la parte de los mesones como en las paredes, este trabajo fue un poco tardado ya que antes de pegar el porcelanato en la pared debía primero agujerearla un poco y debían cortar algunas piezas de porcelanato para poder encajarlas ya que muchas no cabían completas, además también había que hacerles agujeros en las partes donde irían los nuevos tomacorrientes y dejar libre donde iría el fregadero.
The next day, when all the cement was dry, they began to glue the porcelain both on the countertops and on the walls. This work was a bit slow since before gluing the porcelain on the wall, they first had to drill holes in it a little and they had to cut some pieces of porcelain to be able to fit them since many did not fit completely, in addition they also had to make holes in the parts where the new outlets would go and leave free where the sink would go.
Luego de colocar todo el porcelanato colocaron los tomacorrientes y pegaron también parte del porcelanato en todos los bordes de los mesones para cubrirlos y no se viera el cemento, además aún faltaban unos planchones en la parte de adentro de los mesones y también se hicieron ese día, en este punto ya la cocina estaba comenzando a notarse muy linda.
After placing all the porcelain tile, they placed the outlets and also glued part of the porcelain tile on all the edges of the counters to cover them and not show the cement, in addition, some slabs were still missing on the inside of the counters and they were also made that day. At this point the kitchen was starting to feel very pretty.
Aproximadamente en el día 8 instalaron el fregadero, es decir, pasé todos esos días sin fregadero en la cocina por lo que tuve que utilizar el del patio trasero mientras hacían el trabajo de la cocina, algo realmente incómodo y estresante, también colocaron el piso de cemento a los mesones que faltaban y ese día también comenzaron a ponerle estuco a las paredes para eliminar los agujeros, manchas y cemento que había quedado en estas y luego de eso se pudo colocar la cocina en su lugar y a partir de allí comenzamos a usarla normalmente.
On about day 8 they installed the sink I mean I spent all those days without a sink in the kitchen so I had to use the one in the backyard while they did the kitchen work which was really inconvenient and stressful they also put the floor in cement to the counters that were missing and that day they also began to put stucco on the walls to eliminate the holes, stains and cement that had remained in them and after that the kitchen could be put in its place and from there we began to use it normally .
Ya en este punto la cocina estaba prácticamente lista, solo faltaba hacer unos retoques para terminar el trabajo por completo, para lo cual se tomaron 1 día entre aplicar estuco, cemento blanco, pulir con esponjas de lana, y lijar las superficies ásperas para alisarlas, luego de esto finalmente nuestra cocina esta lista.
At this point the kitchen was practically ready, it only needed to do a few touch-ups to finish the job completely, for which they took 1 day between applying stucco, white cement, polishing with wool sponges, and sanding the rough surfaces to smooth them, after this finally our kitchen is ready.

Este trabajo de remodelación se tomó poco menos de 2 semanas pero para mí fue toda una eternidad, cada día debía estar presente en la cocina para estar al tanto de cada detalle y ver que todo se hiciera bien para que mi cocina quedara como yo la quería, fueron largos días de estrés, la casa sucia y llena de polvo y cemento, sin tener fregadero y sin poder usar la cocina bien pero debo decir que todo esto valió por completo la pena, ahora tenemos una cocina bonita y eso hace ver aún mejor nuestra casa, solo falta hacer las puertas y gabinetes para completar la cocina además de pintarla, amo mi nueva cocina y estoy encantada con ella y sin Hive nada de esto habría sido posible, ya que fue gracias a todas las recompensas recibidas de todo el contenido tanto de mi pareja como mío que pudimos reunir el dinero y hacer esta remodelación que desde hace mucho se necesitaba, he adquirido y logrado muchas cosas gracias a Hive pero esto es sin duda de las mejores y más importantes, es todo un sueño hecho realidad.
This remodeling work took a little less than 2 weeks but for me it was an eternity, every day I had to be present in the kitchen to be aware of every detail and see that everything was done well so that my kitchen was the way I wanted it. , there were long days of stress, the house was dirty and full of dust and cement, without a sink and without being able to use the kitchen well, but I must say that all this was completely worth it, now we have a nice kitchen and that makes it look even better our house, we only need to do the doors and cabinets to complete the kitchen as well as paint it, I love my new kitchen and I am delighted with it and without Hive none of this would have been possible, since it was thanks to all the rewards received from all the content both my partner and mine that we were able to raise the money and do this remodeling that was needed for a long time, I have acquired and achieved many things thanks to Hive but this is undoubtedly one of the best and most important, it is a dream or come true.
