El día de hoy es 9 de julio en la Argentina y como cada año se habla de la independencia. Nos recuerdan la firma en Tucumán y la ruptura con el imperio español. Además de la valentía de aquellos patriotas que dijeron “basta, queremos ser libres”. Y verdaderamente es una fecha fuerte y que sinceramente debemos tenerlo presente más a menudo. Como siempre, me gusta traer el pasado y unirlo al presente, y mientras tanto hacernos preguntas. Como, por ejemplo, ¿si verdaderamente somos libre el día de hoy o independientes?

Soy de los que piensan que la independencia no es solo algo que pasó allá por el año 1816, sino que es algo que se construye todos los días. Y si miramos a nuestro alrededor, nos damos cuenta de que seguimos dependiendo de un montón de cosas. Por ejemplo, de sistemas que no controlamos, de plataformas que un día nos dan visibilidad y al otro día nos quitan, de economías que día a día no someten más y más.

Y tiene que ver con lo que estamos construyendo. Cada publicación que haces, cada video y por supuesto cada comentario que hacemos en la blockchain es una forma de decir “quiero ser independiente”. ¿De qué? De las redes sociales o plataformas centralizadas, de enormes algoritmos y por supuesto de like o comentarios vacíos.
! [English] Sometimes we repeat our rhetoric, but as the public renews itself (an emblematic phrase of a great Argentine actress and TV hostess, Mirta Legrand), we must repeat it. And it has to do with what we are building. Every post you make, every video and of course every comment we make on the blockchain is a way of saying "I want to be independent." From what? Por supuesto que no estoy diciendo que Hive va a salvar el mundo, pero sí creo que es un paso importante. Un paso hacia una soberanía digital real y una manera de recuperar la voz, de darle valor a lo que hacemos, de armar comunidad sin filtros y por supuesto sin censura.
