Good evening everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town South Africa. Today I would just like to post my little update on my Hobby Savings Fund!
So what the (amazing) concept is, is that I can blog about my hobby and then earn crypto for it... so I can then have spending money to buy more hobby stuff that I need! Awesome!
That said, all the earnings do not go into the fund. I might be sending this post to some wargamer friends so allow me to explain:
When you post on Hive, you can earn crypto as the post gets voted on. The more votes and votes from bigger accounts equals a better value on the post. When the post is 7 days old it will pay out.
50% of the total post value will be paid as HP (Hive Power), which is staked HIVE currency to the CURATORS. This means the voters. So when YOU vote on other people, your account will also grow.
Then comes YOUR part. 50% of the total is yours.
Of this amount, you get 50% of the value in HP again and 50% in HBD.
There are ways of making a post pay 100% to HP (built into the post options) and there is a service that allows you to get 100% HBD.
The HBD is Hive Based Dollars and that is the part that I cash out for my Hobby stuff but ONLY for Hobby posts.
I post twice a day and I used to post about Splinterlands daily. I now instead post hobby stuff daily and the HBD is for spending and the HP is for growing my account. There are still another 7 posts a week that go for HP and HBD that has nothing to do with the Hobby. That is separate and I have savings for HBD planned as well as other spending monies.
The Fund
Meanwhile, I have accumulated in Rands on Luno the following:
R483, this is approximately $27,42 for my hobby fund!
Things to buy!
So what do I want to buy with my hobby fund?
Well, one thing I want to get is a collection a friend of mine is selling off that I mentioned in this post here: WARHAMMER - The Life of a Hoarder... I just got back to the hobby and look at the opportunity I am given!
Which is to say R1500 (approx $85,17) for the following:
I have a lot of models to paint and make table ready so although it is REALLY REALLY tempting to just buy new models, I need supporting gear.
Here is a look at some prices at Sword and Board:
A massive multitude of paints to be had! I did not actually ask how much each costs...
A Box of Bases R180, essential for units where the basing size may have changed.
All the crafty tools of the trade, many of which I do not own!
A drilling kit to allow you to insert pins into a model: R205
A very fine piece of equipment and well made!
Magnets to make certain units customizable with their various different wargear options: R205
Quite a substantial amout.
Of course I am going to need more Plastic Glue!
R110 will go very far indeed.
Primer spray if you do not want to sit and coat it all in very thin layer(s) of black paint by brush: R275 - again, this lasts a LOT of models.
Hmmmmm Cthonian Berserks look so cool.
If I could... I would empty these shelves... and add them all to my pile of (shame) unpainted models! Hahahaha!
As you can see, I can already afford quite a bit of them from blogging! What an awesome concept! I will just have to keep posting about my hobby journey and hobby Lore and I will be able to get whatever I need!
Until next time!
