Two weeks ago, Ren and I started this project and now I am finally done... I just need to turn a head a round on the sprue and maybe spray it with some varnish.
Have a look at how it went!
This is what the Space Marine looked like when I started. I had the painting of the armor done, the shading of the armor done as well as highlights and most of the details.
This is what Ren's Imperial Fist is looking. Mine is a Blood Angel. So all these different Chapters have different lore, background and heraldry.
I now applied some washes. A wash seeps into all the cracks you paint it on and really brings out detail.
Here is close-up of the same section as the first picture, but now with the washes done.
Then it was time to start doing the base!
And then keep doing layers, picking out all the details.
Finally, everything is tidied up as the sprue is re-painted into grey and the base is tripped in black. Now it looks like the marine is pre-painted on a sprue!
The back!
I will need to use my hobby fund to purchase some varnish. A can of good spray varnish costs R275 at Sword and Board. This is protect the paint on this creation.
The idea is to frame this painting job or put it on a stand. Ren mentioned that he has an idea to 3D print something for it. We shall see!
Thank you for reading!
