Last night I posted about the outcome of my watch against the Drukhari. Even though their winrates are not high in tournaments I feel that it is only a matter of time before the players learn HOW to play them in deadly ways.
So I decided to try find myself another opponent that I could test my army against. I have a match against Necrons tonight!
While Drukhari currently have a 43% win rate in tournaments the Necrons have a 49% while my Space Wolves have a 46% win rate. This means that across all league tournaments on average, the Necrons have been outperforming the Space Wolves
As you can see, the top spots are held by Aeldari, Genestealer Cults, Imperial Knights and Adeptus Custodes.
However, some of those winrates are starting to lean towards absurdity and I will need to punch around my own weight a bit before going and taking on armies like that!
So, like the Dark Eldar - I have made a study of my upcoming opponent.
They have a great Army Rule - Reanimation Protocols, allowing them to bring destoryed models back into the game or to heal lost wounds on bigger units.
The only way that I will be able to get past this rule is if I completely destroy something. Then units cannot be brought back or wounds healed.
Their Detachment rule makes units more accurate when they have a Character in a unit. All things point to Necrons being Character Heavy and this increases the chances of one of my Characters killing one of them and earning me the Saga of the Warrior Born.
But of course my main worry is how much anti-tabk this army has.
I have no idea what sort of Necron army this guy plays. His name is Wynand.
He could be troop heavy, tank heavy, hybrid. He could field fast units or slow unbreakable units that are difficult to shift due to the number of wounds and the amount of reanimation buffs he takes and I have no idea what he will bring.
I have been researching the units and there are more units and more characters than I can safely memorize in a short amount of time.
However, he is unlikely to know what I can do since more Space Wolves don't play Champions of Russ and most people mistake me for another Space Marine player!
We shall see!
Wish me luck!
