The day of love and friendship is in February. For this important and beautiful date, the #Jewelry community has come up with a proposal to create accessories alluding to the theme.

This event is celebrated on 14 February, when many people give gifts to their friends, family and partners in the name of love and friendship. In this case, I share with you the making of some bracelets with beads and knots for a young girl who is my friend, I call her my niece. She is the granddaughter of a friend.

With these bracelets I join the initiative. The most significant sign is the heart, but this time I wanted to use happy faces, since love is joy, so I made two bracelets with that motif and an additional one with wooden cubes in dark tones, the latter as part of the gift. Besides, they were pieces that I had been saving for some time.

I am only going to show the step by step of one of the bracelets because the others repeat the procedure. They are really easy and quick steps.

The procedure is as follows:
1- The ends of the thread are burnt to make it thinner; this will allow the thread to be easily inserted through the holes.

2- After inserting each piece into the cord. We are going to make a Franciscan knot at each end so that the beads do not roll off. This is done by winding two or three turns and passing the thread through the turns.

3- To join the threads that close the bracelet, a slip knot is tied in the middle of the bracelet thread.

The smiley face bracelets follow the same procedure, but I decided to add strings and terminals to close the bracelet; in this way I did something different. The wooden beads are natural and red wine coloured and the thread used is a nuanced colour in shades of brown. The threads used in the smiley face bracelets are shaded, but one in shades of pink and the other in blue and yellow.

I liked the result. At the time of this publication, I haven't given her the gift yet because I haven't seen her, but I'm sure my little friend will like it too.

Love is universal, it is giving and receiving on the basis of respect, tolerance and understanding. It is a concept applicable in all times, to oneself and to others; it is important to live with oneself and with others.

El día del amor y la amistad es en el mes de febrero. Por esta importante y bonita fecha, la comunidad #Jewelry nos deja la propuesta de crear accesorios alusivos al tema.
El 14 de febrero se celebra ese evento, en el que muchas personas realizan obsequios a sus amistades, familiares y parejas en nombre del amor y la amistad. En este caso, les comparto la elaboración de unas pulseras con abalorios y nudos para una jovencita que es mi amiga, le digo sobrina. Ella es nieta de una amiga.
Con estas pulseras me uno a la iniciativa. El signo de mayor significación es el corazón, pero en esta ocasión quise usar caritas felices, puesto que el amor es alegría; entonces elaboré dos pulseras con ese motivo y una adicional con cubos de madera en tonos oscuros, esta última como parte del obsequio. Además de que eran piezas que tenía guardadas desde hacía algún tiempo.
Solamente voy a mostrar el paso a paso de una de las pulseras porque las otras repiten el procedimiento. Realmente son pasos fáciles y rápidos.
Pulseras
Los materiales son: abalorios de madera, de carita feliz y transparencias, hilos, trancaderas, aros pequeños, terminales y alicates.
El procedimiento es el siguiente:
1- Se queman las puntas del hilo para afinarlo; eso va a permitir introducir el hilo por los orificios con facilidad.
2- Luego de introducir cada pieza en el cordón. Vamos a hacer un nudo franciscano en cada extremo para que las cuentas de adorno no se rueden. Esto se hace enrollando dos o tres vueltas y pasando el hilo a través de las vueltas.
3- Para unir los hilos que cierran a la pulsera, se realiza un nudo corredizo, que se hace amarrando en medio del hilo de la pulsera.
Las pulseras de carita feliz siguen el mismo procedimiento, pero decidí colocarle trancas y terminales para cerrar; de esta manera hice algo diferente. Cabe destacar que las cuentas de madera son de color natural y vino tinto y el hilo usado es de color matizado en tonos marrones. Los hilos utilizados en las pulseras de carita feliz son matizados, pero uno en tonos rosas y el otro en azul y amarillo.
Me gustó el resultado. Para el momento de esta publicación, todavía no le entrego el obsequio porque no la he visto, pero estoy segura de que a mi amiguita, también le va a gustar.
El amor es universal, es dar y recibir bajo la base del respeto, la tolerancia y la comprensión. Concepto aplicable en todas las épocas, a sí mismos y al prójimo; importante para convivir consigo mismos y con los demás.
