On Saturday I went out with my family for a walk and by God's grace, because I don't believe in coincidences, I stumbled upon a beautiful jewelry making supplies store. Believe me, I have passed by that place several times and I had never seen it before. I was going with the intention of buying wool, and in fact I had already shopped elsewhere, but it was the divine purpose that I would find this paradise of materials.

El sábado salí con mi familia de paseo y por cosas de Dios, porque no creo en las casualidades, me topé con una preciosa tienda de suministros para la elaboración de bisutería. Créanme, ya he pasado por ese lugar varias veces y no lo había visto jamás. Yo iba con la intención de comprar lanas, y de hecho ya había comprado en otro lugar, pero era el propósito divino que encontrara ese paraíso de materiales.

There was everything, so much there that I did not know where to look and wherever I laid my eyes I found a treasure. I wished I had my pockets full of money to stock up, for that was the moment since the store is not very close to where I live. I looked quickly, and my eyes stopped on the infinity of muranos that were there. I have already told you that it is my favorite glass. In fact, I had my wedding glasses made in Murano, and I had the opportunity to visit a Murano art glass factory 17 years ago and from there I fell in love with this beautiful glass.

Había de todo, tanto había que no sabía dónde mirar y dondequiera que posaba mis ojos encontraba un tesoro. Deseé tener los bolsillos repletos de dinero para abastecerme, pues ese era el momento ya que la tienda no queda muy cerca de donde resido. Mire rápidamente, y mis ojos de detuvieron sobre la infinidad de muranos que había. Ya les he comentado que es mi cristal favorito. De hecho las copas de mi boda las mande hacer en Murano, y tuve la oportunidad de visitar una fábrica de arte Murano hace 17 años y de allí me enamoré de estos hermosos cristales.

I bought two strips of yellow glass and some sand colored ones. I asked my husband to pay only that because I had already bought several skeins of wool and I didn't want to overdo it. We went to lunch and during lunch I remembered that I had saved 15 thousand Colombian pesos in my wallet several days ago. It happened like with that money that you put away and forget but it appears just when you need it.

Compré dos tiras de cristales amarillos y unos color arena. Le pedí a mi esposo para pagar solo eso porque ya me había comprado varias madejas de lana y no quise abusar. Nos fuimos a almorzar y durante el almuerzo me acordé que yo había guardado 15 mil pesos colombianos en mi cartera hacia varios días. Pasó como con ese dinero que guardas y olvidas pero aparece justo cuando lo necesitas.

After lunch we went back to the store and I bought another six strips of muranos and there I realized that it was a totally compulsive purchase because I did not buy other things that are necessary for the elaboration of accessories and almost everything I chose in green. I am obsessed with green. So much so that the first bracelet I made is green. They are just beautiful, aren't they. Now I'll share the details.

Después de almorzar regresamos a la tienda y compré otras seis tiras de muranos y allí me di cuenta que fue una compra totalmente compulsiva porque no compré otras cosas que son necesarias para la elaboración de accesorios y casi todo lo elegí en color verde. Estoy obsesionada con el verde. Tanto que la primera pulsera que hice es de color verde. Es que son simplemente hermosas, o no?. Ahora les comparto los detalles.

Let's make this simple bracelet in a few steps, but with an expended result since the stones do most of the work. We cut three strands of white Chinese thread and knotted a couple of them but with a loose knot to be able to pass the third strand. We seal with the lighter and at the end we place a golden ball. We make six flat knots and we are ready to place the rhinestones.

Hagamos está simple pulsera en poco pasos, pero con un resultado expendido ya que las piedras hacen casi todo el trabajo. Cortamos tres hebras de hilo chino blanco y anudamos un par de ellos pero con un nudo flojo para poder pasar la tercera hebra. Sellamos con el encendedor y en el extremo colocamos un balin dorado. Hacemos seis nudos planos y estamos listos para colocar la pedrería.

In the central one we place 17 aquamarine crystals and we temper it with the paper clips. We leave the side strands loose because we are going to add the aqua green stones one at a time. We pass a stone on each strand and bring up one of the aquamarine stones. We make a lark's knot on each side, that is to say, with the left strand we pass the tip of the stone outwards wrapping the central thread and so on with the right side.

En el central colocamos 17 cristales color aguamarina y lo templamos con las pinzas para sujetar papeles. Dejamos los hilos laterales sueltos porque vamos a ir agregando las piedras verde agua de una por vez. Pasamos una piedra en cada hebra y subimos una de las aguamarina. Hacemos un nudo alondra de cada lado, es decir, con la hebra izquierda pasamos la punta de adentra hacia afuera envolviendo el hilo central y así con el lado derecho.

This is done repeatedly on each side. Always going up one aquamarine crystal and two aqua green crystals until we reach the end where we finish with 6 flat knots. For the closing we place the ball on the other end, seal the tip with the lighter and elaborate the flat knots that works as an adjustable knot.

Esto se hace repetidamente de cada lado. Siempre subiendo un cristal aguamarina y dos cristales verde agua hasta llegar al final donde rematamos con 6 nudos planos. Para el cierre colocamos el balin en el otro extremo, sellamos la punta con el encendedor y elaboramos los nudos planos que nos funciona como nudo ajustable.

And the magic was done, as a result a beautiful bracelet with muranos combined in aqua green and aquamarine. I really liked the color combination because it is subtle and elegant. I am anxious to go back to the store to buy other things like charms, brooches, and some neoprene spheres that I loved, I need to market materials and I already know where. What a thrill. Y se hizo la magia, como resultado un hermoso brazalete con muranos combinados en verde agua y aguamarina. Me gustó mucho la combinación de colores porque es sutil y elegante.
