[ENG/ESP] Contest: A Valentine's Day Gift./Un Regalo Día de San Valentín.

I am not a very popular person. I am actually somewhat shy and introverted, so my friends are not plentiful. I remember a very special friend who always complained to me because I didn't visit her or didn't write her much, but it's not that I don't appreciate someone and that's why I keep my distance, it's just that I don't visit much, or I'm not used to chatting all day on the phone with my friends. What happens with me regarding this topic, is that I am reserved with my things, and usually when a friend seeks me it is to share some situation or ask me for some advice. I don't want to be misunderstood, I am happy to listen to my friends and as much as possible to help them or encourage them in some situation, but I am still me, and I have always been introverted and reserved. However, I admit that I must improve and be a little more sociable in order to keep my friendships, because like any kind of relationship, it is necessary to cultivate them through sharing and spending time together.

No soy una persona muy popular. En realidad soy algo tímida e introvertida, por lo que mis amigos no abundan. Recuerdo una amiga muy especial que siempre me hacía reclamos porque no la visitaba o le escribía poco, pero no es que no estime a alguien y por eso mantenga la distancia, sino que no soy de visitar mucho, o estar pegada conversando todo el día por teléfono con amigas. Lo que pasa conmigo respecto a este tema, es que soy reservada con mis cosas, y por lo general cuando alguna amiga me busca es para compartirme alguna situación o pedirme algún consejo. No deseo que me malinterpreten, soy feliz de escuchar a mis amigas y en la medida de lo posible poder ayudarles o animarlas en alguna situación, pero sigo siendo yo, y desde siempre he sido introvertida y reservada. Sin embargo, admito que debo mejorar y ser un poco más sociable a fin de conservar mis amistades, pues como todo tipo de relación, es necesario cultivarlas a través del compartir y pasar tiempo juntos.

In view of this, I want to tell you that I have a new friend. It is Elsa, I have known her for 5 months, maybe not enough time to think that we could consider that we have a beautiful friendship, based on honesty and sincere affection, but yes. Elsa is not just anyone, she is only 1,45 meters tall, but she has a big and kind heart. They are always teasing us because of the difference in height between us. I have a feeling that this friendship with her is going to be one of those that will last into old age and I really wish it with all my heart.

En vista a esto, quiero comentarles que tengo una nueva amiga. Se trata de Elsa, la conozco hace 5 meses, quizás poco tiempo para pensar que se podría considerar que tenemos una bonita amistad, basada en la honestidad y cariño sincero, pero si. Elsa no es cualquier persona, ella solo mide 1,45 metros, pero tiene el corazón grande y bondadoso. Siempre nos están haciendo bromas porque la diferencia de estatura entre nosotras. Presiento que está amistad con ella va a ser de las que llegan a la vejez y de verdad lo deseo con todo el corazón.

Elsa had her birthday on February 9th and at home we made her a little cake to sing her birthday. My son Carlos helped me decorate the cake. It was something simple, but for my friend it was so special that tears of emotion came to her eyes. For the Day of Love and Friendship I made this beautiful bracelet especially for her, with her favorite color, red, of course, also to make my participation in the initiative of the Day of Love and Friendship; I hope to give it to her when we meet again, in three days. Elsa estuvo de cumpleaños el 9 de febrero y en casa le hicimos una pequeña torta para cantarle cumpleaños. Mi hijo Carlos me ayudó a decorar la torta. Fue algo sencillo, pero para mí amiga fue muy especial que se asomaron emotivas lágrimas de sus ojos. Para el dia del amor y la amistad le he realizado especialmente para ella, está bonita pulsera con su color favorito, el rojo, por supuesto, también para hacer mi participación en la iniciativa del Día del Amor y la Amistad; espero dársela cuando nos volvamos a encontrar, dentro de tres días. Le comparto los detalles:

This bracelet is very simple to make. The only detail a little more laborious in making the crochet heart and even that is simple if you master at least a few basic stitches of the technique. First we make a magic ring with 15 stitches. It must be an odd number because the stitch to form the tip of the heart must be right in the center. We start with 3 chain stitches and then three double rods in the next 3 stitches. 3 rods in the next 3 stitches. 1 double crochet which is the tip of the heart and then repeat the previous steps but in reverse.

Esta pulsera es muy sencilla para realizar. El único detalle un poco más laborioso en hacer el corazón de crochet y hasta eso es sencillo si se domina al menos unos puntos básicos de la técnica. Primero hacemos un anillo mágico con 15 puntos. Debe ser número impar ya que debe quedar el punto para formar la punta del corazón justo al centro. Se comienza con 3 puntos cadena y luego tres varetas dobles en los 3 puntos siguientes. 3 varetas en los siguientes 3 puntos. 1 vareta doble que es la punta del corazón y de allí en adelanto se repiten los pasos anteriores pero en reversa.

Cuando tengamos lista las tres tiras las atamos en un solo nudo y rematamos con un balín dorado en cada extremo. Pasamos el atado de mostacillas por un lado del corazón de crochet y luego por detrás para traerlo al frente, de esta manera nos quedará el corazón justo en la mitad del brazalete.
