Many have the doubt if it is a crystal or just glass, let me tell you a little about this; it turns out that the Murano comes from a very resistant stone called Silica, which processed at high temperatures gives rise to glass, which can be modeled and blown to give different shapes and uses, including these beautiful beads known as Murano glass. Clarified the hard, I leave another information and is that these small jewels are made by hand in Italy on the island of Murano, hence its name, of course that those that today are within our reach may come from another process of development a little more industrialized, not so the authentic muranos

Ya les he compartido la razón de mi encanto por los muranos. Muchos tienen la duda de si es un cristal o solo vidrio, permítanme hablarles un poco de esto; resulta que el Murano proviene de una piedra muy resistente llamada Sílice, que procesada a altas temperaturas da origen al vidrio, el cual se puede modelar y soplar para dar diferentes formas y usos, entre ellos estas hermosas cuentas conocidas como cristal de Murano. Entonces si es un cristal, ya que proviene de una piedra. Aclarada la dura, les dejo otra información y es que estás pequeñas joyas son realizadas artesanalmente en Italia en la Isla Murano, de allí su nombre, claro está que las que hoy están a nuestro alcance quizás provengan de otro proceso de elaboración un poco más industrializado, no así los auténticos muranos.

The muranos by themselves are the star in an accessory, but today I combined them with silver-plated balls that I also love because they give the accessories a touch of strength and rudeness that are unique, it is like combining something delicate and subtle with other elements of greater strength that give the perfect balance, and here I show them in this piece, because this combination to which anyone would give a resounding NO, resulted in a beautiful bracelet that stands out for its colors, the brightness that reflects each glass used and a lot of personality. Let's see the process:

Los muranos por si solo son la estrella en un accesorio, pero hoy los combiné con balines plateados que también me encantan porque le dan a los accesorios un toque de fuerza y rudeza que son únicos, es como combinar algo delicado y sutil con otros elementos de mayor fuerza que dan el equilibrio perfecto, y aquí se los muestro en ésta pieza, pues esta combinación a la que cualquiera daría un NO rotundo, resultó en una hermosa pulsera que destaca por sus colores, el brillo que refleja cada cristal empleado y mucha personalidad. Veamos el proceso:

We cut three strands of blue Chinese thread, each strand of approximately 75 centimeters. Personally, I like to work with extra thread because I prefer to avoid being short with the measurements. We measure 7 centimeters from the tip to make the top with a golden ball, using only two of the threads. We make a loose knot at 7 centimeters and there we insert the third thread, tighten the knot, cut the excess and seal with the lighter. Now we have the three strands ready to work with.

Cortamos tres hebras de hilo chino de color azul, cada hebra de aproximadamente 75 centímetros. En lo personal me gusta trabajar con hilo de sobra ya que prefiero prevenir quedarme corta con las medidas. Medimos 7 centímetros desde la punta para hacer el remate con un balín dorado, utilizando solo dos de los hilos. Hacemos un nudo flojo a 7 centímetros y allí insertamos el tercer hilo, apretamos el nudo, cortamos el excedente y sellamos con el encendedor. Ahora sí tenemos preparadas las tres hebras para trabajar.

We pass a 4mm amber Murano through the central thread and a 3mm blue Murano through each strand on the sides. We pass the three strands through a 4mm silver ball and bring it up to join it with the rest of the stones. This will be the one that will give the shape to the weave. We work in the same way the whole bracelet, taking care that the strands remain in position, that is, the central one must always contain the largest Murano stone, so the piece will not lose its shape and front position.

Pasamos un Murano de 4mm color ambar por el hilo central y uno azul de 3mm en cada hebra de los lados. Pasamos las tres hebras por un balín plateado de 4mm y lo subimos hasta juntarlo con el resto de las piedras. Este será el que de la forma al entramado. Trabajos de la misma manera toda la pulsera, cuidando que los hilos se mantengan en su posición, es decir, el central siempre debe contener la piedra Murano más grande, así la pieza no perderá su forma y posición frontal.

To finish, I made a nice Franciscan knot and finished off the other end with the golden ball. If you look closely, you may notice that I left a silver bead at the end of the piece, I did not take into account that I had reached the end, taking into account the width of my wrist and when I noticed it, I had already cut and sealed the threads. I hope it is not too noticeable or that it does not detract from the presence of the finish.

Para terminar, realicé un bonito nudo franciscano y rematé el otro extremo con el balín dorado. Si se fijan, podrán notar que se me fue un balín plata en exceso al final de la pieza, no tomé en cuenta que había llegado al final, tomando en cuenta el ancho de mi muñeca y cuando lo noté, ya había cortado y sellado los hilos. Espero que no se note demasiado o que no le reste presencia al acabado.
