Aretes tejidos sobre anillo de lata reciclada. / Woven earrings on recycled tin ring.

Estos aretes fueron realizados con la finalidad de reciclar algunos anillos o seguros de lata que fui encontrando por el camino mientras iba al mercado. Muy cerca de esos puestos hay dos licorerías y algunas veces se pueden conseguir de estas latas vacías para reciclar. No es frecuente verlas ya que los recogedores se las llevan todas. Los materiales que usé en la fabricación de estos lindos aretes son: anillos de lata, pinzas de bisutería, hilo acrílico color rosado, aguja de crochet de 1,60mm, tijeras, cuentas número 8 y número 6, colores blanco transparente y rodado. Alfileres de bisutería, anzuelo pescador para aretes y argolla de bisutería.

These earrings were made with the purpose of recycling some can rings or locks that I found along the way while going to the market. Very close to these stalls there are two liquor stores and sometimes you can get some of these empty cans to recycle. It is not often that you see them as the pickers take them all away. The materials I used in making these cute earrings are: can rings, costume jewelry clips, pink acrylic thread, 1.60mm crochet needle, scissors, number 8 and number 6 beads, transparent white and rhodium-plated colors. Elaborar estos aretes es relativamente fácil. Elegimos dos anillos de latas del mismo tamaño. Con ayuda de las pinzas eliminamos el aluminio de la parte de adentro de cada anillo. Todo el sobrante filoso lo cortamos o doblamos con fuerza hacia adentro del anillo por la parte de atrás.

Making these earrings is relatively easy. We choose two can rings of the same size. With the help of tweezers we remove the aluminum from the inside of each ring. We cut or bend all the sharp excess back into the ring with force from the back side.

Para este diseño decidí empezar el tejido por la parte más angosta del anillo. Usé la aguja de crochet y el hilo acrílico para forrar casi todo el anillo. Primero realicé un nudo de inicio, lo pasé por dentro del anillo y tejí 4puntos bajos en ese primer espacio. Seguidamente pasé al otro lado donde tejí 13puntos bajos. Pasé nuevamente a la parte más angosta y terminé tejiendo 4puntos bajos de nuevo.

For this design I decided to start the knitting at the narrowest part of the ring. I used the crochet needle and acrylic yarn to line almost the entire ring. First I made a starting knot, passed it through the inside of the ring and knit 4 single crochet stitches in that first space. Then I moved to the other side where I knit 13 single crochet stitches. I went back to the narrowest part and finished by knitting 4 single crochet stitches again.

Para la segunda vuelta levanté 1cadena y tejí 4puntos bajos, después levanté 3cadenas y realicé 1punto bajo en el siguiente punto. Seguí tejiendo 3c y 1pb hasta completar los 13 puntos de la vuelta anterior. Finalicé tejiendo 4pb y 1 punto deslizado.

For the second round I picked up 1 chain and knit 4 single crochets, then picked up 3 chains and knit 1 single crochet in the next stitch. I continued knitting 3c and 1pb until I completed the 13 stitches of the previous row. I finished by knitting 4pb and 1 slip stitch.

Siempre me queda la hebra del cierre de la vuelta, esta se esconde por dentro del tejido y se corta el restante. El siguiente paso es elaborar el diseño que llevará este anillo tejido: tomé un alfiler de bisutería, pasé por ahí la cuenta transparente y luego la cuenta rosada. Con las pinzas realicé una argolla con el resto del alambre. También uní cada anzuelo pescador con una argolla de bisutería pequeña para usar como seguro de los aretes.

I always have the strand left over from the closing of the loop, this is hidden inside the fabric and the rest is cut. The next step is to elaborate the design that this woven ring will carry: I took a jewelry pin, passed through it the transparent bead and then the pink bead. With the pliers I made a ring with the rest of the wire. I also attached each fishhook with a small costume jewelry ring to be used as a lock for the earrings.

El último paso que realicé fue montar cada anillo tejido en la argolla base del alfiler de bisutería y enganchar la argolla con el anzuelo. De esta manera quedaron armados o fabricados estos bellísimos aretes tejidos sobre anillos de lata. Como ven se hacen muy rápido y fácil. Solo hay que tener mucho cuidado al preparar el anillo para no cortarse y procurar que el tejido quede ajustado al anillo, ni muy suelto ni tan apretado. Para lograrlo hay que tejer el número preciso de puntos.

The last step I did was to mount each woven ring on the base ring of the jewelry pin and hook the ring with the hook. In this way these beautiful earrings woven on tin rings were assembled or manufactured. As you can see they are very quick and easy to make. You just have to be very careful when preparing the ring so as not to cut yourself and make sure that the fabric is tight to the ring, neither too loose nor too tight. To achieve this you have to knit the precise number of stitches.
