Capybara clay appliqué (esp/eng)

¡Hola mis queridos Hivers creativos! Hoy quiero mostrarles el paso a paso para hacer un precioso aplique de Capibara que es útil para muchísimos accesorios, yo lo he hecho para un lacito de satín ya que estoy haciendo un lote con diferentes temas, por lo que pronto traeré alguna otra figurita tierna y bonita pero hoy es el turno de este Capy, así que no se pierdan el paso a paso a continuación.

Hello, my dear creative Hivers! Today I want to show you step by step how to make a beautiful capybara appliqué that can be used for lots of different accessories. I made mine for a satin bow, as I'm making a batch with different themes, so I'll be bringing you some other cute and pretty figurines soon, but today it's this capybara's turn, so don't miss the step-by-step guide below.

Materiales:

• Porcelana fría
• Estecas
• Pegamento blanco
• Pincel
• Rubor
• Top coat mate
• Lámpara UV/LED

Procedimiento:

Iniciamos formando una bolita del tamaño que deseemos que tenga nuestro capibara, en mi caso es de unos 1.5 cm. La porcelana debe ser de un bonito color marrón claro para poder así hacer más adelante los detalles en tonos de marrón más oscuros. Por cierto, como dato curioso les comento que esta porcelana fría la pinté con óleo que es uno de mis materiales favoritos para pigmentar la masa.

Materials:

• Cold porcelain
• Sticks
• White glue
• Paintbrush
• Blush
• Matte top coat
• UV/LED lamp

Procedure:

Start by forming a ball the size you want your capybara to be. In my case, it is about 1.5 cm. The porcelain should be a nice light brown color so that you can later add details in darker shades of brown. By the way, as a fun fact, I painted this cold porcelain with oil paint, which is one of my favorite materials for pigmenting the clay.

Ahora vamos a tomar la esteca de punta esférica y hundiremos a los lados de la parte superior de la pieza, esto hará ese efecto de que nuestro personaje es todo cachetón. También ahuecaremos en el frente de la carita donde irá el hocico del capibara.

Now we are going to take the ball-tipped tool and press down on the sides of the top of the piece. This will give our character a chubby cheek effect. We will also hollow out the front of the face where the capybara's snout will go.

Con una esteca plana y muy pequeña marcaremos donde irán los ojitos del capibara, estos deben estar un poco inclinaditos como si estuviera enojado, pero no lo está de verdad, este capibara es un amor (risas).

Using a very small flat stick, mark where the capybara's eyes will go. They should be slightly slanted, as if it were angry, but it's not really angry—this capybara is a sweetheart (laughs).

_{Ahuecando sus ojitos / Rolling your eyes}

Formando una bolita pequeñita en un marrón más oscuro, un tono como chocolatoso, procedemos a colocar el hocico en el agujero que habíamos formado antes y acto seguido, haremos los detalles con la misma esteca plana que usamos para los ojos. Recuerden que es una línea vertical central que arriba tiene una especie de de “V” y debajo una “V” también pero invertida, la primera será la nariz y la segunda la boca.

Forming a tiny ball in a darker brown, a chocolate-like shade, we proceed to place the snout in the hole we had formed before and then we will make the details with the same flat stick we used for the eyes. Remember that it is a vertical center line with a kind of “V” at the top and another “V” below, but inverted. The first will be the nose and the second will be the mouth.

Para las orejas haremos un par de gotitas en tamaño minúsculo del mismo marrón del hocico y con una esteca de punta de bolita súper chiquitita la ahuecaremos en el centro y la posicionaremos en su lugar, arriba a los lados. Aprovecho para recordarles que antes de añadir cada pieza se debe agregar un puntito de pegamento blanco.

For the ears, we will make a couple of tiny droplets in the same brown color as the snout and, using a super tiny ball-tipped tool, we will hollow them out in the center and position them in place, at the top on either side. I would like to remind you that before adding each piece, you should add a tiny dot of white glue.

Es momento de colocar las líneas que definirán los ojos y los detalles del hocico, para ello habrá que hacer una tira de un marrón más oscuro que el anterior lo más delgadita posible y luego, la cortaremos en los tamaños que necesitemos para cada parte y por supuesto, una vez hecho esto, las adheriremos en su lugar con un toque de pegamento.

Now it's time to draw the lines that will define the eyes and details of the snout. To do this, make a strip of a darker brown than the previous one, as thin as possible, and then cut it into the sizes you need for each part. Once you've done this, stick them in place with a dab of glue.

Viene el toque de color con ese rosado hermoso en las mejillitas del capibara, para lo cual he utilizado mi propio rubor, porque nada que te una más a tu creación que compartirle tu propio maquillaje (risas).

A touch of color comes from the beautiful pink on the capybara's cheeks, for which I used my own blush, because nothing connects you more to your creation than sharing your own makeup with it (laughs).

Y una vez a secado completamente nuestro nuevo amiguito, lo sellamos con top coat y le damos el uso que prefiramos, en mi caso, un hermoso lazo blanco.

And once our new little friend is completely dry, we seal it with a top coat and use it however we like. In my case, I use it to make a beautiful white bow.
