Crear es algo que disfruto muchísimo y si son cositas que puedo usar pues muchísimo más, así que aprovechando las ganas y la inspiración sigo dándole uso a los materiales que tengo en casita para crear nuevos accesorios, aunque es posible que haga una pausa pronto porque tengo algunos proyectos DIY para realizar en casa, así que mientras tanto, aprovechamos el impulso, y para hoy les quiero compartir un brazalete de ojos turcos en diferentes colores que está súper lindo.

I really enjoy creating things, and if they’re little bits and bobs I can actually use, then all the better, so, making the most of my enthusiasm and inspiration, I’m continuing to use the materials I have at home to create new accessories, although I might take a break soon as I’ve got a few DIY projects to do at home. In the meantime, let’s make the most of the momentum, and today I’d like to share with you a Turkish eye bracelet in different colours that’s absolutely lovely.

Para este brazalete decidí usar un diseño un tanto diferente a los que había estado elaborando, ya que en esta oportunidad, en lugar de balines, decidí usar unos aritos para separar las piezas y la verdad es que el resultado es realmente lindo, ya que parece una cadena continua y le da un toque más delicado.

Otro detalle distintivo es que solo trabajé la parte que va en el dorso del brazo con los ojos turcos y para lo que se ve en el lado del interior utilicé una cadena de eslabones, además dejé una porción de cadena como colgante, ya que es algo que me encanta incorporar a mis accesorios para darles algo de movimiento.

For this bracelet, I decided to go for a slightly different design to the ones I’d been making, as this time, instead of beads, I opted to use small rings to separate the sections. To be honest, the result is really lovely, as it looks like a continuous chain and gives it a more delicate touch.

Another distinctive detail is that I only used the Turkish eyes on the part that goes on the back of the arm, whilst for the part visible on the inside I used a link chain; I also left a section of chain hanging down as a pendant, as this is something I love to incorporate into my accessories to give them a bit of movement.

Paso a paso/Step by step

Como les comenté a arriba este brazalete va a tener dos caras, o lados, uno que se va a apreciar en la parte dorsal de nuestro brazo y otra en la parte interna, y básicamente son tres piezas: la de ojos turcos que va a cubrir toda la parte dorsal de nuestra muñeca y la otra mitad va a estar dividida en dos piezas de cadenas en las cuales van a estar conectadas los cerradores y que van a incorporarse a cada extremos de la pieza de ojos turcos como veremos más adelante.

De momento, vamos a trabajar en la primera parte de la cadena que va a ser la que va a estar conformada por los ojos turcos, y lo que vamos a hacer es pasar uno de los ojos turcos por un alfiler de ojo, cortamos el excedente, dejando una distancia aproximada de un centímetro o poco menos de un centímetro para crear un arito ya que vamos a conectar piezas entre sí, y esto lo hacemos con la pinza redonda ubicándola en la punta del alfiler de ojo, giramos hacia dentro y de esta manera creamos nuestro aro.

As I mentioned earlier, this bracelet will have two sides: one that will be visible on the back of our arm and another on the inside, and it basically consists of three parts: the Turkish eye section, which will cover the entire back of our wrist, and the other half will be divided into two chain sections to which the clasps will be attached and which will be incorporated at each end of the Turkish eye section, as we shall see later.

For now, we’re going to work on the first part of the chain, which will be made up of the Turkish eyes, and what we’re going to do is thread one of the Turkish eyes onto an eye pin, cut off the excess, leaving a length of approximately one centimetre or just under a centimetre to create a loop, as we’re going to connect the pieces together, and we do this using the round-nose pliers, placing them at the tip of the eye pin, twisting inwards and thus creating our loop.

Repetimos el procedimiento con todos los ojos turcos que vamos a necesitar, y esto dependerá del largo que deseamos para nuestro brazalete.

We repeat the process with all the Turkish beads we’ll need, and this will depend on the length we want for our bracelet.

Lo que sigue es ir conectando las piezas que ya tenemos listas, y para ello vamos a hacer uso de las argollas que cómo ven son pequeñas, básicamente solo un poco más grandes que el aro u ojito de nuestras piezas de ojos turcos.

El procedimiento a seguir es bien sencillo, ya que lo que vamos a hacer es abrir un extremo de una de nuestra pieza con la pinza redonda, pasar el arito y volver a cerrar con la pinza plana, seguidamente, al aro que acabamos de colocar, vamos a conectar otra pieza de ojo turco repitiendo el mismo procedimiento, y de esta forma usando este mismo patrón vamos a continuar hasta obtener el largo que deseamos, recordando que va a ser únicamente para cubrir la parte del dorso de nuestra muñeca.

The next step is to connect the pieces we’ve already prepared, and to do this we’ll use the small rings – as you can see, they’re just a little larger than the loop or eyelet on our Turkish eye pieces.

The procedure is very simple: we open one end of a piece using the round-nose pliers, thread the ring through, and close it again with the flat-nose pliers. Next, to the ring we have just attached, we’ll attach another Turkish eye piece, repeating the same procedure, and in this way, using this same pattern, we’ll continue until we reach the desired length, bearing in mind that it’s only to cover the back of our wrist.

El siguiente paso es cortar la cadena tomando en cuenta que uno de los extremos va a ser más largo que el otro, ya que voy a dejar un colgante, que no va a llevar ninguna decoración simplemente es un trozo más de cadena que va a quedar expuesto y generar movimiento.

Seguidamente vamos a conectar una porción de cadena en cada extremo de nuestra pieza principal y para ello simplemente con ayuda de la pinza redonda abriremos solo lo necesario uno de los ojitos de los extremos y conectaremos en cada lado una de las cadenas asegurándonos de cerrar muy bien con ayuda de la pinza plana.

The next step is to cut the chain, bearing in mind that one end will be longer than the other, as I’m going to leave a pendant – it won’t have any decoration; it’s simply an extra piece of chain that will be visible and create movement.

Next, we’re going to attach a section of chain to each end of our main piece. To do this, simply use the round-nose pliers to open one of the small loops at each end just enough, then attach a section of chain to each side, making sure to close the loop securely using the flat-nose pliers.

En este punto el siguiente paso es ajustar el largo de las cadenas y conectar los cerradores, y en este caso, en particular, voy a utilizar un cerrador de broche, para lo que necesito colocar en el extremo donde se encuentra la cadena corta una argolla pequeña, a la cual voy a conectar también el cerrador y finalmente cerramos con ayuda de la pinza plana.

En el otro extremo, en esta oportunidad también voy a colocar una argolla pequeña que es la que va a permitir que cerremos el brazalete ya que el cerrador de broche no abre lo suficiente como para pasarlo directamente por la cadena, y es por esto que vamos a utilizar una argolla pequeña y la vamos a conectar exactamente en el mismo eslabón donde colocamos la que usamos para conectar el cerrador. Y de esta forma está listo este precioso brazalete de ojo turco.

At this stage, the next step is to adjust the length of the chains and attach the clasps; in this particular case, I’m going to use a clasp fastener, so I need to attach a small ring to the end where the short chain is, to which I’ll also attach the clasp, and finally secure it using the flat-nose pliers.

At the other end, I’m also going to attach a small ring, which will allow us to fasten the bracelet, as the clasp doesn’t open wide enough to pass directly through the chain. That’s why we’re going to use a small ring and attach it to the exact same link where we attached the one used to connect the clasp. And with that, this beautiful Turkish eye bracelet is ready.

Como pueden ver es un proceso bastante sencillo, pero el resultado es súper lindo, un brazalete muy delicado, llamativo, con movimiento y perfectamente combinable con cualquier color de prenda de vestir ya que tiene varios colores, así que no dudes en crear el tuyo en casa.

As you can see, it’s a fairly simple process, but the result is absolutely lovely: a very delicate, eye-catching bracelet with a lovely flow to it, and one that goes perfectly with any colour of clothing as it features a variety of colours, so do give it a go and make your own at home.
