Knot Bracelet, I teach you how to do this Technique (Eng-Esp)

Greetings, Jewelry Community. I was eager to make a jewelry project, and above all, I wanted to make a bracelet with waxed thread or Chinese knotting, using the knotting technique used to make those protective bracelets. However, those are made with red thread. I didn't have any of that color at the moment, but I did want to make those knots, which are made using a piece of straw or straw to achieve those even twists.

Estaba ansiosa por realizar un proyecto de bisutería, y sobre todo quería realizar una pulsera con hilo encerado o hilo chino, con la técnica del nudo que se utiliza para realizar esas pulseras de usan de protección, pero esas las realizan con hilo rojo, en este momento no disponía de hilo de eso color, pero si quería realizar esos nudos que se realizan utilizando un trozo de pitillo o sorbete para lograr esas vueltas tan parejas.

Los invito a ver el paso a paso.

First, I cut a piece of waxed thread or Chinese thread. For this, I used a tape measure to measure 1 meter and cut it.
I also cut the straw to about 3 or 4 cm, a comfortable length for me to work with.

I take one end of the thread and position it around the outside of the straw. I extend it about 2 cm and begin twisting the thread, orienting it toward the tip where I started.

Primero corté un trozo de hilo encerado o hilo chino, para esto utilicé la cinta métrica para medir 1 metro y corté.
El pitillo o sorbete también lo corté de unos 3 o 4cms una medida que se nos haga cómoda para trabajar.

Tomo un extremo del hilo y lo posiciono por el exterior del pitillo o sorbete, lo extiendo unos 2cms aproximadamente y comienzo a girar en hilo orientándolo hacia la punta donde comencé.

The number of turns is a matter of personal preference; I worked with 5 full turns. I used my fingers to try to keep the turns tight and well-knit.

Then, we insert the other end of the thread through the same side of the straw, thread it through completely, and then withdraw the straw from that same side. I carefully stretch the long thread, trying to let the turns continue to form. This step took me a while to learn, but with practice, I got better at it.

La cantidad de vueltas es a gusto personal, yo trabajé con 5 vueltas completas. Me ayudé de mis dedos para tratar de mantener la integridad de esas vueltas, bien juntas.

Luego, el otro extremo del hilo lo introducimos por ese mismo lado del pitillo o sorbete, lo paso completo y seguidamente voy retirando el sorbete por ese mismo lado. Voy estirando con cuidado el hilo largo, y tratando de dejar que se sigan armando las vueltas. Este paso me costó un poco aprenderlo, pero con la práctica ya me salían cada vez mejor.

This is what the knot looks like. Now I cut off the excess from that end and burn it with the lighter, making sure to use the blue side of the flame so the thread doesn't turn black. And that's how this beautiful knot is created. I loved it.

This knot I just made will be one end of the bracelet. Now I measure 7 cm to begin repeating this knot for what will become the bracelet design.

Así luce el nudo, ahora corto el excedente de esa punta y lo quemo con el yesquero, procurando que sea con la parte azul de la llama para que no se ponga negro el hilo. Y así se logra este nudo precioso, me encantó.

Esto que acabo de realizar será uno de los extremos de la pulsera. Ahora mido 7cms para comenzar a repetir este nudo para lo que será el diseño de la pulsera.

At 7cm I repeated exactly the same process, except I'm not going to cut the thread since I'm going to start the design, and the knot was left as shown below:

A los 7cms repetí exactamente el mismo proceso, solo que no voy a cortar el hilo ya que voy a empezar el diseño, y quedó un nudo así como muestro a continuación:

For the bracelet design, I will repeat this knot 8 times, and I will insert golden beads between each of them.

Para el diseño de la pulsera repetiré este nudo 8 veces, y voy a intercalar balines dorados entre cada uno de ellos.

The bracelet looks like this. Note that I don't leave them too tight, I leave some space or movement between the knots and the balls.

La pulsera va quedando así, fíjense que no los dejo muy apretados, dejo que haya cierto espacio o movimiento entre los nudos y los balines.

After finishing the design of interlaced knots and beads, I again considered a distance of 7 cm to tie the knot that will be the other end of the bracelet.

Now I'm going to make the closure. To do this, I'll cross the ends of the bracelet and secure them with two pieces of ribbon or zip ties to make it easier to weave the closure. I'll start with a simple knot, the kind we make when we start tying our shoes.

Al terminar el diseño de nudos y balines intercalados, vuelto a considerar una distancia de 7cms para realizar el nudo de lo que será el otro extremo de la pulsera.

Ahora voy a realizar el cierre, para ello cruzo los extremos de la pulsera, y con dos trocitos de cinta o tirro los fijo para poder tener más facilidad al tejer el cierre, que voy a comenzar con un nudo simple, de esos que hacemos cuando vamos a empezar a atar nuestros zapatos.

Now I'm going to start weaving a flat knot. I explained this in more detail in my post Waxed Thread Bracelet and Star Charm (Eng-Esp). It's just that: repeat the flat knot 8 times, cut off the excess, and burn the ends.

With this, our bracelet is complete. I loved the result.

As I mentioned above, this technique is used for the 7-knot bracelet, which they use for protection, but with red thread. If that's your taste or belief, this is the process to make it. If you want to add beads or charms, it's very much up to personal taste.

Como les mencioné arriba, esta técnica es la utilizada para la Pulsera de 7 nudos, que usan para protección, pero con hilo rojo, si es su gusto o creencias, este es el proceso para hacerla, ya si quieres adicionarles balines o dijes, es muy al gusto personal.
