Hello!!DIYHub Friends! How are you all doing?I'm thrilled to share my latest creation.A charming DIY Valentine's Day centerpiece crafted from recycled cardboard!
Instead of tossing yesterday's grocery cardboard into the trash,I transformed it into something beautiful and useful.
This centerpiece is perfect for setting a romantic mood for a date night or adding a touch of handmade love to your Valentine's Day celebration.
If you're looking for an affordable and unique way to elevate your table decor, this project is for you!
Materials You'll Need:
-Cardboard (from grocery boxes or similar)
-Red felt or fabric (or any color you prefer)
-Hot glue gun and glue sticks
-Scissors or craft knife
-Pencil
-Purple construction paper(or any color that complements your felt)
-Green construction paper(for leaves)
-Ruler
-Optional:Decorative ribbon,embellishments
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Heart Template:
Begin by sketching a large heart shape onto your cardboard. You can freehand it or use a template.Cut out the heart carefully. This will be the base of your centerpiece.Consider making two hearts for a more substantial look.
Creating the Heart Frame:
Cut a second, slightly smaller heart from the cardboard. This smaller heart will be used to create a frame around your main heart.Use your hot glue gun to attach the smaller heart to the larger heart, leaving a gap between the two for later decoration.
Adding the Felt:
Cut a long strip of red felt. The length should be sufficient to wrap around the heart frame, creating a continuous border.Carefully apply hot glue to the back of the felt and wrap it around the cardboard heart frame, ensuring a neat and even finish.Secure the ends with glue.
Paper Flowers:
Now,let's create the charming paper flowers to embellish our centerpiece.Cut out multiple small squares from purple construction paper.Fold each square diagonally in half, then in half again, and finally in half once more.Round the edges of the folded square to create a petal shape.Unfold the square to reveal a flower shape.Repeat this process to create several flowers.
Assembling the Flowers:
Use a small amount of hot glue to assemble several of the paper flowers together to create a cluster. You can adjust the number of flowers in each cluster to your liking.
Adding the Leaves:
Cut out small leaf shapes from green construction paper.Attach these leaves to your flower clusters using hot glue.
Decorating the Heart:
Carefully glue the flower clusters onto the felt covered heart frame.Arrange them evenly around the heart to create a beautiful and balanced design.
Creating the Base:For the base of your centerpiece, you can use a sturdy cardboard circle(cut from a sturdy box)or a small, decorative container.Glue your heart creation securely onto the base.
Finishing Touches:
Add any optional embellishments, such as ribbons or decorative beads,to personalize your creation.

-Experiment with different colors of felt and paper to create unique Valentine's centerpieces.
